Olive Miracle: Leave-in Conditioner

Thursday, December 11, 2014

Today this post is going to be about a product I've been loving lately. So maybe after you read this you will love it too! My mom brought this to use for her hair. But if any of you are like me, anything mom gets I want it to! Right now I have a hair routine so I have not used this yet, but I do use this on my sister's hair. This is the Olive Miracle, Leave-Conditioner. It's an Anti- breakage formula, that is used as a Daily Treatment and Hair Strengthener.

The Olive Oil Leave-in Conditioner is enriched with extra virgin olive oil. It protects hair from damage while strengthening the hair for a healthier look. This daily treatment leave -in moisturizes the hair and it helps repair dry, brittle, damaged hair. Since this is a daily treatment you can use this on dry hair. Do not rinse out and after that, you can style your hair as usual. You can also use this on wet hair after: shampooing, relaxing, perming, curling or coloring. But make sure you read the instructions on the manual. Towel dry and comb thoroughly, style your hair as usual.

This product works great. I have been using this on my sister's hair for about 3 weeks and I do see a difference. My sister's hair is Medium/long in length and she wants it to be longer. This product is a daily treatment, so I use this on her hair everyday. This product provides moister for her hair. If your like us, you'll understand the feeling of dry hair. You have to show your hair a lot of TLC! I definitely recommend this product to you. It's at Walmart, but I'm pretty sure it could be at other stores like: Target and CVS.

I hope you enjoyed reading this post!

Winter Nail Polish

Monday, December 8, 2014
This is a short post on my favorite nail polishes, that are great to wear in the winter! I like to wear darker colors in the winter. Actually I like dark colors throughout the whole year. But I made an exception for two polishes. For me I either like light nail polish or dark polish, there is no in between. But for awhile now I've been liking red nail polish or anything in that spectrum of red. So here is a list of my favorite polishes to wear! I will admit that the names of these polishes are very persuasive to me. The polishes stay on awhile. For me it lasts for about a week to 2 weeks. I am crazy about my nails so if it chips I will take the polish off and put it on again. Is that crazy?

So anyway, here's my list:

Spoiled: Pick Your Poison
Red (Shimmer)

Spoiled: I Don't Drink Cheap Wine
Deep Purple (Shimmer)

NYC: Wine Bar
(Magenta Color)

NYC: Plaza Plumberry
Dark Purple (Darker than the I Don't Drink Cheap Wine Polish)

NYC: Black Lace Crème

I hope you enjoyed my favorite polishes for the winter! What are your favorite nail polishes to wear?

My Favorite Candles

Wednesday, December 3, 2014
About a week ago on twitter I asked if anyone would be interested in a candle collaboration post and three lovely bloggers responded. We decided that the collaboration would be more interesting if all four of us did this together. It is always nice to meet new bloggers and share different or similar interests we have. So I was excited to do this collab post! These bloggers are unique and have their own style of blogging which is nice! So be sure to check out their blog and collab post here: Cece, Rachael Claire, and Charlotte.

Since it's fall, and winter will be here soon, candles are a must. At least for me it is, I love candles! As soon as I light the candles, I can smell the scent immediately. Sometimes I have more than one lit. I choose specific candles to light depending on the mood I'm in. Does anyone else feel that way too? Candles are calming and relaxing. The time I light candles the most is around 7pm or 8 pm. On the candle it says it is only supposed to stay on for about 2-3 hours. So that is perfect because on most nights I go to bed around 10:30 pm. I think that candles help me sleep I night. I think after I blow the candles out the aroma is still there, so it helps me through the night. Usually I get up in the middle of the night.

For this post I am going to talk about my favorite candles that I have been using at the moment. I do have others, but I have not used them yet. When it comes to candles I do not think about the brand. Is that weird? But these candles are from luminessence and the other from Sonoma. The three smaller candles were a $1 and the bigger candle was on sale for $4.99, but the regular price is $9.99. Even though some are a dollar, they are still great quality. So it does not matter whether one is a higher price. They still work the same!

Vanilla
• This is one of my favorite scents. I think of vanilla ice cream when I smell this candle. Actually anything vanilla flavored! As you can see, I've been using this candle quite often. You can't go wrong with this scented candle. It's one of the basic scented candle but the smell is amazing!

Apple Cinnamon
• When I smell this scent, I think of thanksgiving and all the foods and desserts that use cinnamon. Like apple pie, candy yams, cinnamon rolls, and pecan twirls. I don't eat pecan twirls often, but that's what I think of when I smell this candle! This candle smells so good, it unbelievable!

Black Cherry
• This scent is very strong, but it has become one of my favorites. I think of cherry pie when I light this candle. So if your favorite pie is cherry you should definitely get this candle.

Pumpkin Latte
• I have never had a pumpkin latte before. Actually I never had any latte before. I have no idea what it tastes or smells like, but if it's like this candle it must be really good. On the bottom of the candle it says " This delectable, fall drink blends a touch of bright, juicy fruits into a creamy latte of white pumpkin and steamed milk. Maple sugar and vanilla bean add a hint of sweetness." I think I might try a latte!

I hope you enjoyed reading this post as much as I enjoyed writing it! Don't forget to check out these lovely bloggers!

Makeup Geek Eyeshadows

Saturday, November 29, 2014

Usually I see comments on beauty videos of people saying I want that product. I didn't think about those things a few years ago watching YouTube. But now I think about wanting products I see in videos. Does that make any sense? One of my favorite people to watch is Jaclyn Hill. Her videos are great, she's funny, and keeps it real! While watching her Envious Mermaid tutorial about 4 months ago, I fell in love with three Eye shadows she used. Their names might have persuaded me a little more.

So after some thought I decided to purchase them. MakeupGeek.com is an online store that sells makeup, brushes, and more. This site is very popular, so I knew I had to hurry and buy it before those eye shadows were sold out. I am so glad I did. These colors are so pretty! Dirty Martini is a matte color, while Envy and Mermaid have more of a shimmer. These colors are very pigmented, so they will show up really well on the eyelid. I have started practicing with these eye shadows. I am hoping to recreate Jaclyn Hill's look, although it will not be as gorgeous as hers.
Here's her link: Envious Mermaid tutorial

If I decide to do a tutorial inspired by Jaclyn Hill's look I will definitely post it! I hope you enjoyed reading!

BH Cosmetics Eyebrow Tweezer

Wednesday, November 19, 2014

Going to get your brows waxed costs money, so with that being said I rather do my own. Although I am not a professional I think I can manage. I do not wax my eyebrows. To be honest I have never waxed or tried to wax my brows. If you're like me in the department of not waxing, you find other ways to style (fix) your brows. For me I have only tried two products; one will be in this post and the other is linked here: Brow kit!

I have learned to love my brows just the way they are. But they do deserve to pampered at the same
time. If I have a few eyebrow hairs that do not belong, I want something quick and easy to fix this. That is why I have my bh cosmetics eyebrow tweezer. I have written a few posts on bh cosmetics products, but I am not affiliated with them in any way. I just simply love their products because its still high quality products, but at a cheaper price. This is great because not everyone wants to spend a lot or are maybe on a budget! The bh cosmetics eyebrow tweezer costs about $3.95 which isn't bad. Trust me I've seen tweezers that costs about $8.

These tweezers are great and they work really well. A light is attached to the tweezers, which is great because you can see what you're doing! Another good thing about this is that, the spiral grain holder helps you keep a good grip on the tweezers. I do recommend trying these tweezers, you won't regret it!

I hope you enjoyed reading. How do you keep your brows in check?

Rimmel London lipstick: Kate Moss!

Tuesday, November 18, 2014

One thing I am sure, is not being a lipstick person. It's not that I do not like the colors or the lipstick itself, I just do not think I look right with it on. I see a lot of videos and blogs talking about different lipsticks and I'm like those colors are gorgeous. But it probably will not look the same on me. About two weeks ago I went to Walmart, I wanted to get new nail polish but I ended up getting lipstick. Like I said before I do not wear lipstick, I wear lipgloss or chapstick. So anyways I was in the lipstick section for a while. They had so many pretty colors and I chose red. I guess I chose this color, because its very popular!

This is a Rimmel London lipstick created by Kate Moss. This is the first time I have tried their products and I must say I am impressed! This is the 1st lipstick collection created by her and it's exciting. Kate Moss is a fashion model icon, so this inspired me to get the lipstick. The Lasting Finish collection comes in 9 different shades. This lipstick is supposed to last up to 8hrs., which sounds good. This is a matte lipstick and it costs about $5. This is a gorgeous red and it is very pigmented which is very good, because it will show up on the lips immediately. This is a bold color. It's the pop of color that makes a statement. As for a makeup look I would for a more settled, only if you want the lipstick to be the star! I have tried this lipstick on and it a very pretty color, but because I am a first time lipstick wearer it is going to take some time to get use to it.

I hope you enjoyed reading! What lipsticks/brands do you like and/or recommend?

Dry Shampoo: Does it really work?

Friday, November 14, 2014
Dry shampoo is suppose to be a substitute for the regular shampoo. But does it really work. Now everyone is different. What may work for me or you, may not work for someone else. So in this post I will talk about two dry shampoo products. My mom had brought these two to try on her hair, so I wanted to try it on my hair too. Both were at separate times, because one didn't really work. The other one didn't really do anything either.

The first dry shampoo is Suave professionals Keratin infusion. It works on all hair types. Which is a great thing. This product says that this dry shampoo is formulated with Keralock Technology contains keratin and absorbs oils to help clean hair. Leaving your hair feeling smooth, refreshed, and manageable between your regular hair washes. As I am reading this my mom and I are saying it would be good to try. You can use this on dry hair or just washed hair for extra volume.
I have use this on my own hair a couple of times and I have used this on my mom 's hair. Honestly for me I did not really see a change, I know your suppose to use it more than a couple of times but I didn't really find it useful. When I used it on my mom I actually saw some what of a difference, but not enough to say I really like this. I was a little disappointed, but everyone is different like I have said before.

The second dry shampoo is Garnier Fructis Volume Extend Instant Bodifier. This product is only for fine or flat hair, so this was not the product for me because I am the opposite. But this might help someone decided whether they should get it or not. It says that this dry shampoo, instantly refreshes and removes oil for lasting volume and body. This product containing a blend of orange citrus and grape extract, immediately refreshes and bodifies lifeless locks. Creating volume you can see and feel. Honestly I am sure this product would work for someone else. I love garnier fructis products. I have used their shampoos and conditioners. I even used their blow drying cream, but this product just didn't work for me. These products say will give your hair body, that's nice but I could just use hairspray. This is only my opinion and does not take away their other great products, this just did not work. But it may work for you.

If you try these products or you have tried them, let me know. I hope you have enjoyed reading!

Burt's Bees: Lemon Butter Cuticle Creme

Wednesday, November 12, 2014

I received this cuticle crème product as a giveaway gift about two years ago. Before then I have not tried any thing from Burt's Bees. I wanted to try their lip products, but I did not get around to it. The Burt's Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Crème is a soothing blend of natural ingredients that treats dry cuticles, brittle nails and chapped, cracked fingertips. In order to see a difference in your nails and fingertips, you need to massage into and around your nails nightly. I have not used this product enough to see a difference yet, but I can tell you that I am going to start using this regularly!

The smell of this crème is lemon, but to give you an exact idea it smells like lemon heads! It actually smells really good and it feels so soft. You do not need a whole lot to apply to your nails/cuticles. A little goes along way! Even though it's a crème it feels like a moisturizer for your nails. It also keeps your cuticles hydrated. This is a good thing, because winter is coming and from experience in some areas I tend to have dry skin. I will definitely update you all on any changes this crème has on my cuticles!

I hope you enjoyed reading! Have you tried any of Burt's Bees products?

5 ways to use Vaseline!

Monday, November 10, 2014

Vaseline is one product that can be used for a lot of things. I am sure the possibilities for Vaseline are endless, but here are my 5 ways to use this! It is said that Vaseline is not even a moisturizer, but I think otherwise and I am sure of you do as well. I mean why else would we use it? Why was it even created?

1. Lips
I use Vaseline all year long. But for the colder months a head Vaseline is your best friend. Having chapped lips during the cold seasons are not the best. Sometimes having chapped lips can even be painful, but don't worry because Vaseline helps with this problem. This keeps your lips moist.

2. Hair
Although it's said that Vaseline is good for keeping your hair moisturized, I have not tried this method before. But what I use this for is to tame the baby hairs. This works great! You can use a brush, to brush down the hairs. You can even use a toothbrush that was not being used, it may sound weird but apparently it works for people. Most of the time I use my fingers.

3. Feet
Vaseline is great to use for the bottoms of your feet. After you take a shower or bath, just rub the heels of your feet with Vaseline. You can lock in moisture by putting socks on. This will leave your feet feeling moist and hydrated, instead of dry and flaky!

4. Remove makeup
If you run out of makeup remover, have no fear Vaseline is here. This is a great substitution for the normal makeup remover. You can put the Vaseline on your fingers/ hands, q-tips, or tissues and then you rub where ever the place your makeup is on. Then after that you can continue your normal nighttime skincare routine.

5. Keep eyebrows in place
I have never used eyebrow gel. To be honest I didn't know that it even existed. But for those of you who use eyebrow gel, can use Vaseline as a substitute to keep those bad boys in place. I think it works great and your brows stay in place! You can either use a eyebrow spooley or your fingers.

I hope you enjoyed reading! What do you use Vaseline for?

Eyeliner is a girl's bestfriend!

If you had to chose only one makeup product to keep, what would it be?

For me it would be eyeliner! The reason I chose this is, because eyeliner was the first makeup product I've ever worn. I do have makeup (eye shadows) that I've practiced with and worn outside before. I even did my own prom makeup before but, that's not the point. Basically nothing could replace my love for my eyeliners! I'm a simple kind of girl, so eyeliner is just the pop of color I need for my eyes to stand out! I do have the basic color black, but I also have colors that stand out. I did a post on a eyeliner set, here's the link: Eyeliner set.

Colors Pictured :
White
Silver
Glimmering Dark Gray
Deep Copper
Green
NYC Black eyeliner (Did not come with this set)

I still have this set of eyeliner, although I have lost two colors, my blue and black. I always replace my black eyeliner, because it's the most basic color and because I lost the one from my set! I am looking to buy more colors like purple, teal, and others. I am looking to expand my eyeliner collection. So maybe I have a post on that! I've been practicing makeup looks to posts on my blog, so those colors would go great. I also may recreate popular looks I have seen on the computer from YouTube and Pinterest!

I hope you enjoyed this post!

What Blogging Has Taught Me

Friday, November 7, 2014

What have you learned from your blogging experience? I have learned so much from blogging, but these are the 4 most important things .

1. Patience
-Things do not happen overnight. This is one thing I had to learn the hard way. To be honest I am still struggling. But I am learning that I will get to where I want to be as long as I keep working hard.

2. Be yourself
- If you do not learn anything from blogging, remember that being yourself is most important. If you can't be yourself, then what's the point. I understand if you may feel intimidated or scared. Sometimes if someone feels that way, they put on an act and pretend to be someone else. I am here to tell you it's ok to have those feelings. It's also ok to be yourself. Everyone is different and to me that's the best thing about blogging. We are all unique, because every blogger is different. Different posts, different styles, likes and dislikes.

3. Blogging does not have to be boring
-Blogging can be fun. I believe everyone is creative with there blogs. Back then I thought that I lacked this gift. But then I realized I was not giving myself enough credit. So I started thinking outside of the box.

*4. Don't doubt yourself.
-Doubting yourself doesn't really get you anyway. You have to believe in yourself to get to where you want to be. That's what I lacked for a while with blogging. I didn't believe in myself enough. I still have a little doubt, but I do believe in myself. Others believe, so I should start believing in me too. So that's what I started too! Always believe in yourself, that is very important, if you fall pick yourself back up and start over again!

5 Tips for Healthy Hair!

Thursday, November 6, 2014

1. Stop using sulfate Shampoos and Conditioners.
- Sulfates are not good for your hair. They strip your hair of its natural oils and then it becomes dry and brittle. There's plenty of sulfate free shampoos and conditioners. So you do not have to worry about dropping your favorite brands. One brand that definitely has sulfate free stuff is L'Oreal!

2. This tip has two parts!
  • Wash your hair with warm water/ rinse with cold.
-While washing your hair, use warm water not hot. Using hot warm can be damaging and unhealthy for your hair. It causes split ends and on top of that makes your hair very frizzy. No one likes frizzy hair, especially me. When rinsing your hair for the final time, use cold water. This will lock in the moisture.

3.  Moisturize.
-Moisturizing your hair is very important. This is to ensure that your hair doesn't become dry and break off. Oils and leave in creams will definitely do the trick, you just have to fine what works for you! Some good moisturizers are:

4. Biotin.
-Biotin works very well for your skin and your nails. But importantly it works great for you hair. If you do not want to take the vitamins, there are plenty of foods that have biotin. For example,
cheese, eggs, whole grains, fish (ex: salmon), and nuts (ex: almonds).

5. Drink Plenty of water!
-Drinking water is an important factor in staying healthy in general. But it's also important for your hair. Water stimulates hair growth. You drink water and you wash your hair with water, so water is important!

Base vs Primer

Wednesday, November 5, 2014
This post is a short one, but I thought I would share my opinion about these 2 products. I've had both for two years now. When I brought them it was not at the same time. I purchased an extra NYX eye shadow base because it was on sale at Sears. I believe I purchased the elf eyelid primer from Target.

-A quick note about the elf primer, it's not this color. It's darker, but my camera did not pick up on it. The nyx eye base is the color I chose, there are more choices to choose from.

NYX:
An eye shadow base and an eyelid primer are meant to keep your  makeup lasting all day. But there is a difference. Honestly I really didn't think it was a difference, but I guess the name eye shadow base and eyelid primer makes it obvious! The difference is that although the base helps keep the eye shadow on for a long time it also makes the eye shadow vibrant and the color pops. I've heard that a base does not prevent creasing all the time. In my opinion, I love the NYX eye shadow base. I have not experienced any creasing, but this is only my opinion. You all would have to try it and see if it is good for you. You do not need a lot of it, a little goes along way. Although sometimes I get carried away. Sometimes I use my fingers to apply this, other times I use a makeup brush (any small flat brush).

Elf:
This eye primer is ok, but it's not something I use very often. The good thing about this eye primer is that it comes with an applicator. One thing that is not so great about this primer is that I feel I never have enough on. I do not feel like the eye shadow sticks to the primer. Does that make sense? Don't get me wrong it's not bad, but you would have to see for yourself. If you have tried this primer, what did you think about it?

These are only my opinions about each product. I do like them both, but it's pretty obvious which one I love more. I hope you enjoyed reading! Do you have any suggestions on eye primers or bases that I should try?

My first ever brushes!

Monday, November 3, 2014
Two years ago on my 21st birthday I went to Ulta and brought my first brushes. I was so excited! Even though I wasn't a makeup artist I felt very professional. I am sure all of you know about the eye shadow applicators that come with makeup. There is nothing wrong with anyone using them, but for me every time I used one it would either break or irritate my eye.

I wrote about these brushes briefly in my birthday haul. But I decided to talk about these a little bit more. Included in this 5 piece Bamboo brush set is: Lash and Brow groomer, Eyeliner brush, Eye shading brush, Concealer brush, Blush brush, and a bag for the brushes to go in. Because the concealer brush is very similar to the eye shading brush, I would use it as another eye shadow brush. Sometimes I would even use it as a blending brush. The best part about this set is the fact that the bristles of the brushes is cruelty free. These are also eco- friendly! I think this set is great for beginners. This includes the basic materials needed and it is not overwhelming. I know for me I would have been overwhelmed. I would not have known what to do with special brushes like: foundation, tapered brush, and contour brushes.

I do recommend this brushes to beginners or anyone who wants a simple look with only a few materials. I've looked for these brushes online, just in case you want to look or even purchase them. These brushes are either the exact same or similar to them. So here are a few links down below:

Amazon
Walmart
Ulta
Walgreens

Target

Goals As A Blogger!

Sunday, November 2, 2014

I've been blogging for 2 years now and I really enjoy it. I will admit that I have not been the most consistent blogger, but changes like setbacks and loss made me feel sad and discouraged. I'll admit I have  given up sometimes. But during the times where I've given up or took a break, or when my 1st computer broke I had a lot time to reflect and think. So I decided to set goals for myself as a blogger. So here is my list!

1. Never give up!
The world of blogging is hard, but if I stop every time I'm discouraged I'm not going to get where I want to.

2. Blog more frequently.
I like blogging, because I get to share the things I like with you all. I will admit I get lazy with blogging. I am still trying to work on it.

3. Schedule posts.
Now this is the easiest goal. All I have to do it set a time and day!

4. Write a lot of posts in advance.
I am working on this goal right now. Hopefully I can stick to this goal. As of now I have published a lot of post because I am almost finished writing ten posts. I think this will help me a lot. If I am busy, I can just schedule these post. So I think writing in bulks will be very helpful!

5. Create a blogging schedule.
My biggest problem is staying organized and on track. So I have brought a small notebook to write all of my ideas in. I am taking baby steps. Eventually I will see what days will work for me and how much time I should spend.

I hope you enjoyed this post! Do you have any goals as a blogger?

BH Cosmetics: Think Pink!

Thursday, October 30, 2014

I love looking on the BH Cosmetics site, they have so many wonderful products. So when I went on their site about two weeks ago, I saw this pink brush set for only $5. The main cause for this was for breast cancer awareness month and the sale lasted for three days. So on the first day when I saw this sale I was not sure about it. But when I saw it was for a good cause and the money would be donated to the Young Survival Coalition for young women with breast cancer, I decided to buy it. It was sold out by the last day. I ordered these brushes on Tuesday October 14 and received them on Saturday! Unfortunately this brush set is no longer available, it was only available for those three days.

Included:
1. Eyebrow and lash spooley (Not Pictured)
2. Fine eyeliner brush
3. Angled eyebrow and liner brush
4. Tapered eyeliner and smudge brush
5. Small classic eye shadow brush
6. Large classic eye shadow brush
7. Angled eye shadow brush
8. Tapered foundation brush
9. Angled blush brush
10. Powder brush

I would have talked about these brushes last week, but I wanted to try them out first. I have only tried out a few of the brushes from this set, but so far I really like them. Included in this case is nine brushes and one eyebrow/ lash spooley. They work really well and they also pack on pigment great. One of the things I like about this set is that it comes with 3 different eye shadow brushes. The angled eye shadow brush, large classic eye shadow brush, and the small classic eye shadow brush. I use the angled eye shadow brush as a blending brush! I also use the eyebrow and lash spooley to keep my brows in place. Like I said before, unfortunately there are no one brush sets of these kind unavailable. Maybe in the future they will bring them back!

I hope you enjoyed this post! What are your favorite brushes to use, from any brand?

My Blog is turning 2!

Friday, October 17, 2014

Two years ago on October 19, when I started blogging I had no idea what I was doing. To be honest sometimes I still feel like I don't know. I have learned so much from this experience good and even bad. I've met so many wonderful bloggers and I've become friends with them too! I wanted to make YouTube videos, like any other girl. My first makeup inspiration was Dulce Candy from DulceCandy87, she taught me how to put on eye makeup for beginners! Her channel really made me feel confident! I had been watching videos for a couple of years, so I thought it would be a good idea. But it was more difficult then I thought it would be. In the end I realized making videos was apparently not for me. Even though I was inspired by these videos, creating one myself was not something I could do. I was nervous and scared. But in the process of my decision I ended up making good friends. Some I still talk to often and others I have unfortunately lost touch with. We were really good friends.

So since making videos was not my thing a few months later in June I decided to try out blogging. I didn't really know what blogging was. I wrote a couple of posts, but no one saw and I didn't know why so I deleted them. A few months after that, around September 7th, I was on Facebook and Laura Vitale from Laurainthekitchen made a post saying to come join her in a twitter chat. So I was like this is so awesome, I've been watching every since she started. But then reality set, when I realized I didn't have a twitter. The chat was almost over, I had ten minutes left to join the chat. So I took the risk and created a twitter. So now I'm down to five minutes left. So I signed up, but then I had to follow like five people in order to move on. In my mind I'm like are you serious. So I followed Laura Vitale, Tia Mowry, and Tamera Mowry, and two others. So now I'm down to a minute left and I can finally move on. So I had to think of something in 30 seconds to tweet. I tweet how I was so inspired by her. When I sent the tweet, there was no time left and I thought I missed out. So when she responded I almost fell out of my seat. I was really excited and it made my day! She has inspired me to enjoy cooking. She also helped me bring back memories of me as a child trying to help my mom cook, especially on the holidays. Now that I am older while me and my mom are in the kitchen cooking we share stories with my 15 year old sister (she likes to watch!)

From that day on, I had a twitter but didn't know what to do with it. I remember the day I started getting followers. One of the first followers were @TMariebeauty74, I was surprised but grateful. Although I could not understand how a Beauty guru on YouTube found me on twitter and decided to follow me. Like I said I am very grateful to her and I really appreciate it a lot. I felt like I was a nobody compared to all of these Beauty gurus and bloggers. Since I did not want to make videos because I felt uncomfortable, a month and 12 days, on October 19 I made the decision to start blogging since I had a twitter and I could share my posts there. I decided to start blogging to share my interests and write inspirational posts. I remember my first blog follower was another person on YouTube, her name on there was Ms.ScreamQueen. We talked to each other, but then I do not know where she went. I hope she's ok!

I did not want to be boring and continue with my story, but this is basically how I got my twitter and why I started blogging! I hope you all enjoyed really reading. Writing this post brings back so many memories for me. I am so grateful to everyone who gave my blog a chance. I am so glad I started blogging, because I learned a lot. So many people on YouTube have inspired and they continue to. I do not know where I will be in another year with blogging, but I am glad for these two years!

BH Cosmetics Neutral Palette!

Monday, October 13, 2014
Online shopping is not something I do often, but when I do it's a big deal for me. For months I've been eyeing the BH Cosmetics 88 color palette neutral eyeshadow. Why didn't I buy it then? The reason I did not is because I wanted to be sure it's what I truly wanted.

When shopping I don't buy something just for the sake of. So after months of staring at this palette on the computer I decided to finally get it. I purchased this online Sunday morning October 5 and I received it Wednesday afternoon October 8. I was so anxious it wasn't going to come early, so when I went to check the mail I was so excited to see it. By my reaction you would have thought it was Christmas! Before I continue, I will like to say that I brought this for an amazing deal. This palette is on sale for $11.95, the regular price is $24.95. The sale is still going on, but not just for this palette so go and check it out. Here's the link to the website: http://www.bhcosmetics.com/.  If you want to go straight to the eye shadows, here's the link for that: http://www.bhcosmetics.com/eyes.

As I mentioned before, this palette is a neutral color palette and it consists of 88 eye shadows. I think this is so awesome because, this palette consists of so many colors that can create so many looks and combinations. When people think of neutral, they imagine boring. These colors are far from
boring. There's a range of colors like: beige(tan), yellow, orange, green, and a reddish purple color. This also includes the basics like white, black, brown, and more. I chose this specific palette because I like more simple colors that still adds pop of colors into the mix. This palette also goes great with the Fall season.

I did a mini swatch just to see how these colors look, and they look so pretty! I cannot wait to try them in makeup looks. I am so excited to have this palette and I really love all of the colors. If you want to read another post about their makeup that I blogged about awhile ago, here's the link: BH Cosmetics Haul.

Well I hope you enjoyed reading this post! What are your favorite products from bh cosmetics or any other brand?

My Hair Care Routine: Shea Moisture Part 2

Tuesday, October 7, 2014
About a few months ago I talked about my current hair products that I am using. If you want to read the descriptions of each product here is the link: Current Hair Products. I am naturally a curly hair girl! I have not used any heat tools for a while now, except for a couple of times in the beginning of this year. I take better care of my hair as far as the kinds of products I use, and I actually have a hair care routine. That has not happened before, I usually used whatever shampoo and conditioner I saw. Well I actually was picky about the kind of brands I used. Like I would use Garnier Fructis, Tresemme , and the rarely L'Oreal. But I didn't really have a routine until a few months ago! First off I wash my hair once a week, sometimes twice.

Step One.
- Before I get in the shower I turn the water on. When washing your hair you do not want the water too hot. I've heard that If the water is hot that creates split ends and a lot of frizz. So makes sure it's warm. Anyways after I turn the water on I get in the shower. I wet my hair and I make sure my whole head is covered. I pour shampoo into my hands and I begin to rub them together. I use Raw Shea Butter Moisture Retention Shampoo. After that I scrub my roots. Scrubbing the roots is very important it ensures that all of the build up is gone. Then whatever shampoo is left I wash towards the ends of my hair.

Step Two.
- Conditioning my hair is one of two most important steps I follow. I use Raw Shea Butter Moisture Restorative Conditioner. So I pump about three maybe four pumps of conditioner. I work the conditioner in my hair at the roots, but my main focus is my ends because it the oldest part of the hair. Every part of the hair needs tlc, but the ends need it a little bit more. After I finish putting the conditioner on I put a shower cap on. So I keep the cap on for about fifteen minutes. Then I take the cap off and rinse the conditioner out. At this point I start to detangle my hair with a wide tooth comb, that is specifically for detangling.

Step Three.
- This is the second most crucial part. Deep conditioning for me is really important because it's fixing the dryness or damage my hair has gone or is going through. I use Raw Shea Butter Deep Treatment Masque. So I scoop some of this product out of the container and I work it through my hair. After that I put the same shower cap on my head as before. I then let it be for about 20 minutes. During this time I take my actual shower. When I am finished I remove the shower cap and while I am rinsing out the masque I detangle my hair once more. When I am finished I use my microfiber hair towel to dry my hair. If you do not have this towel you can use a cotton shirt. But do not use a regular towel, that will cause friction in you hair and make it frizzy. So anyway I use the microfiber towel it dries my hair about 70%, but I do not want it too all the way. I still need some of that liquid to complete my hair process, whether I am doing a wash and go or a specific hairstyle.

*Sometimes I use olive oil in my hair. I know I need to get better with that, but I am taking baby steps. Oils are very important!

Step Four.
-  The last two steps are important because the products used gives my hair the moisture that it needs to survive the day. For this step I use Cantu Shea Butter: Leave in conditioning repair cream. I separate my hair into sections and I apply this product to each section thoroughly. I always start with back sections and then I work my way up. At this point I have stopped combing my hair, because I have already parted and detangled in the last two steps.

Step Five.
- This part is just like the previous step. As far as applying the product on my hair in sections. Again I start on the back sections first and then work my way to the front. I use Shea Moisture: Coconut & Hibiscus Curl Enhancing Smoothie w/ Silk Protein & Neem Oil. This product is used to bring my curls to life. After applying these products to my hair, I let my hair air dry a lot. I have used the diffuser a couple of times.

Gabbinggals Twitter Page

                                                     Gabbinggals

About two weeks ago, I talked about a new twitter chat called #gabbinggals. To quickly summarize this chat, we will talk about girl related things like: relationships, married and/or single life, issues we all deal, and more. This is positive friendly environment, we do not judge anybody here. We're just here to have girl talk.

So anyway back to the real reason I am writing this blog post, is to talk about the twitter page we just created to go with this chat. At first we decided that we were not going to make a twitter page. Then with some thought we figured it will help us connect with you all easier. That way if you wanted to: talk, ask a question, give a topic suggestion you could by using the twitter handle @gabbinggals.

As a reminder this chat will be every Friday at 3pm eastern (US time). But you can talk to us anytime you want to. The link is https://twitter.com/gabbinggals. So make sure you give us a follow.

Twitter Chat

Wednesday, September 17, 2014
A couple of months ago, for one of my monthly goals I wanted to create a twitter chat. Twitter chats are fun and you get to talk to new people all the time. But to me I have not seen any chats dealing with everyday life topics, like: relationships, married life, single life, girl/women problems, and etc. I decided to ask a couple ladies @TheMakeupCutie and @MissSophiaBlog on twitter that I talk to, if they would be interested in creating the chat with me and I am so excited that they both said yes. I feel like we are different women, different ages, and we have probably dealt with the same issues as well as different issues. We thought this would be a fun way to get to know other people and talk about things we like to do and things that bother us.

This Chat will be a Positive friendly environment! Bashing anyone for their issues, problems, likes, and dislikes will not be tolerated. We want people to feel comfortable during this chat. We want people to have fun and we also want them to enjoy this chat.

Our first chat starts this Friday at 3pm for an hour. Actually this chat will be every Friday at this time. Our twitter chat is #gabbinggals. You can use this hashtag to talk about our chat, and if you want you can also leave a comment using the hashtag about a topic you will like to talk about! This is like a twitter slumber party. This will be so much fun!

Things Your Single Friend Does Not Want To Hear!

Friday, August 29, 2014

There is someone out there for you, don't worry.

- Do you really want to make the mistake of saying this. I mean your friend could already feel like no one is interested. There is nothing wrong with reassuring them that they are a great catch. However do not make them feel like it could possibly take years of waiting for someone.

When are you going to settle down?

- I am sure when they find a potential husband, unless you have already found someone for them. Not everyone can be successful at finding someone on eHarmony or Match.com. Actually it's hard to meet someone on a regular basis. Things take time such as. finding someone who wants to settle down as well.

Aren't you tired of being single?

-Are you serious? This is one question you should definitely not ask, even if you're thinking about it.  Do you actually think they want to be alone on another Valentines Day for the fourth consecutive year. Maybe they don't want to be single, it's hard to find a descent guy these days. Just because your prince is here, theirs could just be running a little late.

How does it feel to be single? I haven't been single in a longtime,
so I forgot what single life feels like.

-Seriously? This is probably not the best thing to say, especially if your friend is actually looking for Mr. Right at this very moment. To them being single is probably what they did not expect to still be. Sometimes you have to be careful of what you say. Honestly this is really an unnecessary question to ask, unless your friend just got over a breakup and is happy being single.

Since you're probably not doing anything fun, can you watch snickers and Mr. whiskers (pets). The hubby and I are going away for the weekend?

- Just because your friend is single, does not mean that there at home sitting on the couch eating a big bowl of ice cream; watching sad love stories. Although that is absolutely ok with me! But seriously they could be clubbing it up at a party until 2am. It's possible that they're having more fun then you are.

*This post was really fun to write. I was a little skeptical about writing it at first, but it's only my opinion. Questions/ Statements like these usually happens between the "married friend" and the "single friend". Have you ever been on either side of this situation before?

Re-inventing my Blog!

Wednesday, August 20, 2014

I have not blogged since the beginning of July. I would say that's embarrassing, but I needed a break and I needed time to grow. Not to sound cliche, but it's true. Blogging is a hobby that I want to take seriously, this is something I like to do. During my break from blogging I had a lot of time to think about where I want my blog to go. I mean it's been almost 2 years since I started blogging.

I blog about beauty and lifestyle related things. But I want to expand my creativity! I have so many topics to talk about, but would anyone be interested in reading? Let me know what you think. Would you be interested in "girl talk" posts or anything like relationships. Single life posts! Maybe if you want to read topics like this, give some suggestions!

I was also thinking about creating a hashtag for twitter! But I would not want to start this by myself. If anyone would be interested in this let me know. It does not have to be just two people, it can be a group of us!

This was just a post to update why I have not blogged. I will be back to blogging next week... Hopefully!

My Barbecue Sauce recipe!

Wednesday, July 2, 2014
I am so excited to share with you all my very own barbecue sauce recipe! I was inspired to make my recipe, from watching Laura Vitale from Laurainthekitchen! Here's her video Barbecue Sauce. I did not really have any of the ingredients she used, mainly because I was either out of them or never used them before. So then I remembered in her videos she would say use what you have. That's when I looked in my kitchen and gathered these ingredients. I created my recipe months ago and I make very often, just to keep on hand and to perfect my recipe!

I also decided to create my own recipe, because I thought it would be healthier than the store Barbecue Sauce.

Ingredients:

1 1/2 teaspoon: Ground Black Pepper

1/2+ 1/4 teaspoon: Barbecue Seasoning

1/2+1/4 teaspoon: Chili Powder

1/8 teaspoon: Cayenne Powder

1 1/2 Tablespoon: Sugar

1 teaspoon: Olive Oil

Onion (I chopped approximately 1/4 of a small onion finely chopped)

1 cup: Brown Sugar

1 1/2 cup: Ketchup

1 cup: Water

Process:
-Sauté the onion in olive oil for about 4 minutes on low heat. Then add the black pepper, barbecue seasoning, chili powder, cayenne powder, and sugar mixture. Mix for about 1 to 2 minutes.
-Add the ketchup and water. Mix to get incorporated, then add the brown sugar and stir again.
-Let it cook for about 20 to 25 minutes on low to medium heat.
-Let it cool for about 10 minutes (it will get thicker as it cools down)

Final Product:

             My Baked Barbecue Chicken.

Hope you enjoyed reading my barbecue recipe and let me know if you decided to try it!

Olive Oil: Hair Straightener!

Wednesday, June 25, 2014

When it comes to blow drying my hair it's very important. The reason is because my hair will not straighten correctly, when using a straightener or curling iron. So finding a good product for the blow drying part is crucial. One of my other favorites to use was the Garnier Fructis blow dry straightener cream. It was the best, but it has not been in stores for a while.

Not only is the Olive Oil good for hair straightening, but it's also goodfor helping stop hair breakage!
This also includes Shea butter and uv protection. The Shea butter is in all of the hair products I currently use. This is great for helping your hair look and feel soft,
This Olive Oil repairs dull dry and damaged hair. This also adds moisture  to your hair, it can be used on any type of hair including permed, relaxed, processed, and spritzed hair.

Tresemme Heat Protector Spray!

I previously wrote about this product a little over a year in a hair favorites post. So this is going to be a short post, I thought I would update you all on if this is still a good product.

So when I first started watching YouTube  beauty videos almost 5 years ago, one of the first products I got was this heat protector spray. Before I started using this spray I would use oil, which would leave my hair to greasy. It looked like I was trying to fry my hair! I had no idea what a heat protector for the hair was. I do not believe I had heard of it before. Sadly to say, but it is true.

So anyway, about this product:
- It's perfect for blow dryers, straighteners, and curling irons.
- vitamin- enriched
- minimizes heat damaged

Use on damped hair when blow drying and on dry hair when straightening!
This product works and I recommend it to anyone. I am not the only one in my house who uses this heat protector spray!

Turbo Twist Hair Towel!

Usually, after washing my hair I use a regular towel or a cotton shirt. When I finish drying my hair, the towel or the shirt is soaking wet. Worst of all is water is still dripping down my face. When I watched SunkissAlba's YouTube video she was using a microfiber hair towel. To sum it up she, basically said that this towel dried her hair really well and it was good for your hair. So I thought to myself I need to get this towel. But then I never got it and I forgot all about it, until I saw it in Walmart. I was not looking for, because I did not remember it just stumbled upon my eyes.

So I got it in pink. I decided to right this post, because I got another one last weekend in the color purple! So moving on this is " The Original Turbie Twist Super- Absorbent Hair Towel". This towel really works I was actually surprised. Sometimes what works for some else, does not work for you. It's very absorbent, my hair is almost 100% dry everytime.

The great thing about this hair towel is that it's very light in weight and it is "one size fits all". Another great thing about this is all you have to do is put on your head, twist it and put it in the loop hole. I think this is awesome! It's about $5 when you round the price, I do not think this is a bad deal! I recommend this to anyone! It works really and the leftover water is not there, because the towel absorbs more than half of it! It's great to use for both adults and kids, and its even" machine washable".

I think this is a great buy, you won't regret it!

Get fit series: 30 day Pushup Challenge!

Friday, May 30, 2014

On May 1st I started a 30 day Squat challenge. Today is my last day of the squat challenge. I am proud to say that I have finished. Two days ago I wrote this post and saved it in my drafts, but I added this sentence just now. This challenge worked really well for me and it is very effective. I see a difference in myself! Here is the link if you want to check it out! 30 day squat challenge If you want to, you can even do this challenge and just let me know how it went for you!

I have found a new challenge once again on Pinterest, called "30 Day Push Up Challenge". So on June 1st, I will start this new challenge and I am excited about it! I was going to do the beginners push up challenge, but then I changed my mind. I decided that if I am going to challenge myself, I need to go the extra mile and do the more difficult push up challenge. Because I am not a pro at the "Normal" push ups, I am doing the modified ones also known as the "girly push ups". To be honest I do not see anything wrong with doing the girl version of push ups, I think it's just as effective. So I will be starting this challenge on the 1st of June. If you want to, you can start this challenge with me! Just let me know.

Blogging schedule?

Thursday, May 29, 2014

I do not have a blogging schedule. I know that's bad, but I am not super organized in that department yet. So basically right now, it's all about what works for me, One of my goals were to put up a post everyday. That way I can start being more organized, and eventually set up a schedule that works for me. I am not good with keeping up. Let's just say I am way behind. I have failed, but posting everyday is hard.

I should not have made that kind of goal for myself, it would have been easier to start off with a smaller goal. For example, my goal should have been to post more than I did the previous month. Like I wrote in the beginning, it's all about what works for me, so I post on whatever day is available to me. The reason why I do not have a schedule is because, I have other things going on and making an exact schedule would not work out for me. I guess I could write posts and schedule them for a specific day. I have no idea what I should do.

A blog schedule works for a lot of people and that is great. I hope that it will work for me one day, but I do not think that day will be anytime soon. Unfortunately it's not working out, but I guess everyone is different. What may work for someone, may not work the same for you. I have come to realize that it takes time. Like this post I am not so organized at the moment. But I am only being honest about this.

Any advice for me? Do you have a blogging schedule?
