BH Cosmetics: Think Pink!

Thursday, October 30, 2014

I love looking on the BH Cosmetics site, they have so many wonderful products. So when I went on their site about two weeks ago, I saw this pink brush set for only $5. The main cause for this was for breast cancer awareness month and the sale lasted for three days. So on the first day when I saw this sale I was not sure about it. But when I saw it was for a good cause and the money would be donated to the Young Survival Coalition for young women with breast cancer, I decided to buy it. It was sold out by the last day. I ordered these brushes on Tuesday October 14 and received them on Saturday! Unfortunately this brush set is no longer available, it was only available for those three days.

1. Eyebrow and lash spooley (Not Pictured)
2. Fine eyeliner brush
3. Angled eyebrow and liner brush
4. Tapered eyeliner and smudge brush
5. Small classic eye shadow brush
6. Large classic eye shadow brush
7. Angled eye shadow brush
8. Tapered foundation brush
9. Angled blush brush
10. Powder brush
I would have talked about these brushes last week, but I wanted to try them out first. I have only tried out a few of the brushes from this set, but so far I really like them. Included in this case is nine brushes and one eyebrow/ lash spooley. They work really well and they also pack on pigment great. One of the things I like about this set is that it comes with 3 different eye shadow brushes. The angled eye shadow brush, large classic eye shadow brush, and the small classic eye shadow brush. I use the angled eye shadow brush as a blending brush! I also use the eyebrow and lash spooley to keep my brows in place. Like I said before, unfortunately there are no one brush sets of these kind unavailable. Maybe in the future they will bring them back!

I hope you enjoyed this post! What are your favorite brushes to use, from any brand?

My Blog is turning 2!

Friday, October 17, 2014

Two years ago on October 19, when I started blogging I had no idea what I was doing. To be honest sometimes I still feel like I don't know. I have learned so much from this experience good and even bad. I've met so many wonderful bloggers and I've become friends with them too! I wanted to make YouTube videos, like any other girl. My first makeup inspiration was Dulce Candy from DulceCandy87, she taught me how to put on eye makeup for beginners! Her channel really made me feel confident! I had been watching videos for a couple of years, so I thought it would be a good idea. But it was more difficult then I thought it would be. In the end I realized making videos was apparently not for me. Even though I was inspired by these videos, creating one myself was not something I could do. I was nervous and scared. But in the process of my decision I ended up making good friends. Some I still talk to often and others I have unfortunately lost touch with. We were really good friends.

So since making videos was not my thing a few months later in June I decided to try out blogging. I didn't really know what blogging was. I wrote a couple of posts, but no one saw and I didn't know why so I deleted them. A few months after that, around September 7th, I was on Facebook and Laura Vitale from Laurainthekitchen made a post saying to come join her in a twitter chat. So I was like this is so awesome, I've been watching every since she started. But then reality set, when I realized I didn't have a twitter. The chat was almost over, I had ten minutes left to join the chat. So I took the risk and created a twitter. So now I'm down to five minutes left. So I signed up, but then I had to follow like five people in order to move on. In my mind I'm like are you serious. So I followed Laura Vitale, Tia Mowry, and Tamera Mowry, and two others. So now I'm down to a minute left and I can finally move on. So I had to think of something in 30 seconds to tweet. I tweet how I was so inspired by her. When I sent the tweet, there was no time left and I thought I missed out. So when she responded I almost fell out of my seat. I was really excited and it made my day! She has inspired me to enjoy cooking. She also helped me bring back memories of me as a child trying to help my mom cook, especially on the holidays. Now that I am older while me and my mom are in the kitchen cooking we share stories with my 15 year old sister (she likes to watch!)

From that day on, I had a twitter but didn't know what to do with it. I remember the day I started getting followers. One of the first followers were @TMariebeauty74, I was surprised but grateful. Although I could not understand how a Beauty guru on YouTube found me on twitter and decided to follow me. Like I said I am very grateful to her and I really appreciate it a lot. I felt like I was a nobody compared to all of these Beauty gurus and bloggers. Since I did not want to make videos because I felt uncomfortable, a month and 12 days, on October 19 I made the decision to start blogging since I had a twitter and I could share my posts there. I decided to start blogging to share my interests and write inspirational posts. I remember my first blog follower was another person on YouTube, her name on there was Ms.ScreamQueen. We talked to each other, but then I do not know where she went. I hope she's ok!

I did not want to be boring and continue with my story, but this is basically how I got my twitter and why I started blogging! I hope you all enjoyed really reading. Writing this post brings back so many memories for me. I am so grateful to everyone who gave my blog a chance. I am so glad I started blogging, because I learned a lot. So many people on YouTube have inspired and they continue to. I do not know where I will be in another year with blogging, but I am glad for these two years!

BH Cosmetics Neutral Palette!

Monday, October 13, 2014
Online shopping is not something I do often, but when I do it's a big deal for me. For months I've been eyeing the BH Cosmetics 88 color palette neutral eyeshadow. Why didn't I buy it then? The reason I did not is because I wanted to be sure it's what I truly wanted.

When shopping I don't buy something just for the sake of. So after months of staring at this palette on the computer I decided to finally get it. I purchased this online Sunday morning October 5 and I received it Wednesday afternoon October 8. I was so anxious it wasn't going to come early, so when I went to check the mail I was so excited to see it. By my reaction you would have thought it was Christmas! Before I continue, I will like to say that I brought this for an amazing deal. This palette is on sale for $11.95, the regular price is $24.95. The sale is still going on, but not just for this palette so go and check it out. Here's the link to the website:  If you want to go straight to the eye shadows, here's the link for that:
As I mentioned before, this palette is a neutral color palette and it consists of 88 eye shadows. I think this is so awesome because, this palette consists of so many colors that can create so many looks and combinations. When people think of neutral, they imagine boring. These colors are far from
boring. There's a range of colors like: beige(tan), yellow, orange, green, and a reddish purple color. This also includes the basics like white, black, brown, and more. I chose this specific palette because I like more simple colors that still adds pop of colors into the mix. This palette also goes great with the Fall season.
I did a mini swatch just to see how these colors look, and they look so pretty! I cannot wait to try them in makeup looks. I am so excited to have this palette and I really love all of the colors. If you want to read another post about their makeup that I blogged about awhile ago, here's the link: BH Cosmetics Haul.
Well I hope you enjoyed reading this post! What are your favorite products from bh cosmetics or any other brand?

My Hair Care Routine: Shea Moisture Part 2

Tuesday, October 7, 2014
About a few months ago I talked about my current hair products that I am using. If you want to read the descriptions of each product here is the link: Current Hair Products. I am naturally a curly hair girl! I have not used any heat tools for a while now, except for a couple of times in the beginning of this year. I take better care of my hair as far as the kinds of products I use, and I actually have a hair care routine. That has not happened before, I usually used whatever shampoo and conditioner I saw. Well I actually was picky about the kind of brands I used. Like I would use Garnier Fructis, Tresemme , and the rarely L'Oreal. But I didn't really have a routine until a few months ago! First off I wash my hair once a week, sometimes twice.

Step One.
- Before I get in the shower I turn the water on. When washing your hair you do not want the water too hot. I've heard that If the water is hot that creates split ends and a lot of frizz. So makes sure it's warm. Anyways after I turn the water on I get in the shower. I wet my hair and I make sure my whole head is covered. I pour shampoo into my hands and I begin to rub them together. I use Raw Shea Butter Moisture Retention Shampoo. After that I scrub my roots. Scrubbing the roots is very important it ensures that all of the build up is gone. Then whatever shampoo is left I wash towards the ends of my hair.
Step Two.
- Conditioning my hair is one of two most important steps I follow. I use Raw Shea Butter Moisture Restorative Conditioner. So I pump about three maybe four pumps of conditioner. I work the conditioner in my hair at the roots, but my main focus is my ends because it the oldest part of the hair. Every part of the hair needs tlc, but the ends need it a little bit more. After I finish putting the conditioner on I put a shower cap on. So I keep the cap on for about fifteen minutes. Then I take the cap off and rinse the conditioner out. At this point I start to detangle my hair with a wide tooth comb, that is specifically for detangling.

Step Three.
- This is the second most crucial part. Deep conditioning for me is really important because it's fixing the dryness or damage my hair has gone or is going through. I use Raw Shea Butter Deep Treatment Masque. So I scoop some of this product out of the container and I work it through my hair. After that I put the same shower cap on my head as before. I then let it be for about 20 minutes. During this time I take my actual shower. When I am finished I remove the shower cap and while I am rinsing out the masque I detangle my hair once more. When I am finished I use my microfiber hair towel to dry my hair. If you do not have this towel you can use a cotton shirt. But do not use a regular towel, that will cause friction in you hair and make it frizzy. So anyway I use the microfiber towel it dries my hair about 70%, but I do not want it too all the way. I still need some of that liquid to complete my hair process, whether I am doing a wash and go or a specific hairstyle.

*Sometimes I use olive oil in my hair. I know I need to get better with that, but I am taking baby steps. Oils are very important!

Step Four.
-  The last two steps are important because the products used gives my hair the moisture that it needs to survive the day. For this step I use Cantu Shea Butter: Leave in conditioning repair cream. I separate my hair into sections and I apply this product to each section thoroughly. I always start with back sections and then I work my way up. At this point I have stopped combing my hair, because I have already parted and detangled in the last two steps.

Step Five.
- This part is just like the previous step. As far as applying the product on my hair in sections. Again I start on the back sections first and then work my way to the front. I use Shea Moisture: Coconut & Hibiscus Curl Enhancing Smoothie w/ Silk Protein & Neem Oil. This product is used to bring my curls to life. After applying these products to my hair, I let my hair air dry a lot. I have used the diffuser a couple of times.
