Shea Miracle: Moisture Intense Bouncing Curls Pudding

Sunday, June 21, 2015

When it comes to my hair, I am willing to be open-minded to things anew. I have a love/hate relationship with my hair. It's like one day we're friends and the next we're enemies. Am I the only one who goes through this? I have curly hair that's frizzy, so I try to keep it moisturized as much as possible. With any hair, but mostly curly it tends to break off at the ends if it's not treated with T.L.C! While in Walmart I was in the hair section looking for a new product to use. I do love my "Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie Cream", but the end result leaves my hair with white flakes. So that day I was kind of on a hair mission.

The Shea Butter curl pudding is enriched with Shea Butter. This helps eliminate dryness enhancing body, bounce, and shine. Works great for  Mixed Textures such as: Curly, Wavy, Kinky-Coily, & Transitioners. This gives amazing manageability, softness and shine to these types of hair. Regular use of this product helps soften curls, coils, and waves. A lot of curly haired girls experience shrinkage in their hair. Don't worry because this claims that it will elongate curls and kinky-coils. This will also smooth and tame frizz. I was a little skeptical about this product, it just seemed to good to be true. After trying it out, I have decided that it was definitely worth the buy! I am almost done with this container and I can't wait to repurchased it. My hair does not have flakes anymore and it feels more moisturized. The curl pudding/cream has a thick consistency, but it's not sticky at all. It absorbs in my hair really well. My hair style lasts a lot longer and there is very little fizz, which is great. The best part about this is the price. It was less than $4, maybe about $3.59. It lasts a long time, I've had this for about a month now. If your looking for a product to help your curly needs try this out!

I hope you have enjoyed reading this post! What's your current favorite hair product?

My Favorite things to lighten up the House for Summer!

Wednesday, June 17, 2015
During the Summer the weather gets very hot. Believe it or not, but the weather affects the inside of your house. For this lifestyle post, I was inspired by luxury bedding company, Parachute to share with you, how I lighten up the atmosphere in my house for the Summer.

Changing the Curtains
What better way to get ready the Summer, than to change up your curtains. For me I like dark curtains; but I live with my mom and sister, so we all have to agree. But those dark curtains do get annoying during the Summer days, because they block the sunlight. In order to bring in sunlight and keep the house looking new and fresh, go for light/ neutral colors. Even prints lighten up the atmosphere inside!

Fan or Air Conditioner
During the hot Summer days, the weather doesn't just affect the outside, it also has an influence on the atmosphere inside the house. With these warmer months the house gets so stuffy and muggy. I do not like feeling this way, because I feel hot and sticky. That is why it's so important to keep cool inside. Fans not only keep the house cool, it is also relaxing. I like to sit near the fan while drinking a cold beverage and reading a magazine.

Candles
Who said candles were just for the Fall/ Winter seasons. That's the great part about candles, there are so many that can be used for different seasons. I have a few favorites that go great for the Summer. These candles are MAINSTAYS:  Vanilla and Fresh Cotton! Their very refreshing and calming.

Pajamas
Time to throw those long sleeves and pants back in the draws! For the summer I like to keep cool during the night. So I wear shorts and a light shirt for bed.

Changing your Bedding
Out with the old and In with the new! That nice cool feeling you get, when you jump in a bed full of new sheets. How about laying your head on cool new pillow case. During the winter we all have extra cover/ sheets to keep us warm. But that does not work for the Summertime. Those extra blankets get in the way and creates more heat, so it's nice to remove them. To keep your bedroom cool at night, it's good have a fan near your bed!

The Parachute Home website is a great place to buy/look for things to brighten up your bedroom. Whether you're interested in their pillowcases, candles, and sheets you will enjoy browsing their site. If you want to know more about Parachute Home check out their links below!
I hope you enjoyed this post! Let me know what things you do to lighten up your house, bedroom, etc..

Clean & Clear Facial Scrub

Tuesday, June 9, 2015

Lately I've been really getting into facial scrubs. They make my face feel fresh and rejuvenated. While at Walmart I was looking for one thing and ended up with the Clean and Clear scrub. Before I go on I am not affiliated with Walmart in any way, this is just one of my favorite stores to go to! Most of the products are great prices. If you want to know more about this product keep reading!

This is an oil- free Facial Scrub with bursting beads. Infused with Vitamin C and Ginseng, the Clean and Clear scrub gently exfoliates the skin leaving your face looking refreshed. As soon as I got this I immediately tried it. The facial scrub was easy to apply to my face and there was no residue or greasy feeling left. A lot of the times I can't take the greasy feeling. It seems that when I go to was it off, it's still there. That gets really annoying for me. For some reason I am obsessed with the beads in a this facial scrub. When applying this to my face the beads acts as an activator for the product to lather. My face gets a little red after rinsing this off. This is only because I was my face with a rag. Sometimes I use my hands, but then there is product left. Overall this great and I do recommend this. I brought it in the travel size, because I did not know whether it was a good product or not. The travel size was less than $2, maybe about $1.69. If you do try this or have tried this before, let me know!

I hope you have enjoyed this post! If you recommend any scrubs let me know or just want to share leave a comment!

Blogger Interview #2: Sinead

Wednesday, June 3, 2015
Hi everyone! I hope everyone is having a lovely day. This is my second blogger interview and I am really enjoying this series. I want to introduce to you Sinead who blogs at Dreaming again. I just met her on twitter about a month ago, through the regular chats. These chats really help you meet other bloggers, who enjoy the same things as you do. Anyway, I enjoyed interviewing her and if you want to know more, continue reading! Before I forget her 2 year blogiversary was on Monday, so show her some love. Her links will be down below at the end of the interview!

Its real love 💕😂

1. How long have you been blogging?
I have been blogging for two years on the first of June! This is definitely the longest time I have kept up a hobby haha.

2. What inspired you to start a blog?
I really loved reading some of the bigger blogs out there, especially 'Sprinkle of Glitter'. Louise was such a huge inspiration to me. When she started her blogging challenge 'the 30-day snap' for other bloggers to upload a happy picture every day for the month of June I realised that there was a huge community of normal girls blogging. I decided that this was something I would love to do so I set up my blog and took part in the 30-day-snap challenge. I remember doubting myself that I would stick to it for a whole month...here I am two years later!

3. What goals do you have for yourself and your blog?
I don't really have any specific goals for my blog other than to continue to be inspired to create posts I love and for my blog to grow. For myself, I have many goals in my life. I guess it's the typical things really, find a job I love, get to travel the world and to just be happy.

4. Where do you see your blog in the next year?
Hmmm in a year from now, I honestly see my blog where it is now. Being regularly updated and cared for. I would of course love for the audience to grow a little, I love when people comment on my blog and a discussion is created. I would be so happy if I made loads of new blogging friends in the next year.

5. Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?
Oh God, these questions are always so scary! haha. 5 years doesn't sound like very long. I will be 27 though, that sounds so old - eeek! I try not to think "Oh I want to be married by this age and have kids by this age" because if it doesn't happen then I will be disappointed. I also don't want to put that kind of pressure on myself. I want to just let things happen and hopefully, whatever situation I am in when I am 27, I will be happy! (But ideally I would like to be in a full time permanent teaching position and have met "the one" haha)

6. What have you learned since you started blogging?
Oh I have learned so much. I have become fairly handy in all the technical stuff like HTML and CSS which I had no clue about before. I think I've gotten better at my photography and learned what makes a good photo. My writing has also improved I would like to think. I have also learned how amazingly kind and friendly people can be online. I never I thought I could become friends with so many people I have never met. I have never once got a negative comment and since the internet has often been called a cruel place, I find that wonderful.

7. What are the positives and negatives of blogging?
Oh there are so many positives. For me personally, blogging is a creative outlet on which to express myself. It encourages me to take photos (which I love doing but probably wouldn't do as often if I didn't blog) It also reminds me to remember all the good things in life and appreciate them (because I often blog about them in my '5 happy things' posts) It allows me to meet and interact with so many amazing people that I would otherwise never had known exisited. There are so many things I love about blogging I could go on forever. It's taking me longer to think of the negatives. There really aren't many. I guess for me personally, there's the issue of privacy. As I am a teacher I do worry that people I don't want to see my blog will come across it. I guess, it wouldn't be very professional. I try to keep my identity fairly anonymous whilst I am in school as I really really don't want to be forced to stop blogging!

8. Would you want to turn this hobby into a career in the future?
No I have absolutely no interest in that. It's purely a hobby and that's the way it will always be.

9. Are you influenced by other bloggers?
Oh yes 100%. I love reading other peoples blogs and commenting on them. I think being a part of the community is the most important thing about blogging. There are so many ladies and blogs I admire that influence me hugely, they give me lots of ideas and inspiration. I could name them, but I the list would be far too long (some of them are in my blog roll over on my blog though!)

10. Has blogging changed you? (Have you made any friends or experienced new things)
I think blogging has changed me a little bit. I have always been fairly quiet and reserved. Since I started blogging and realised that people loved listening to what I had to say it made me more confident to speak up in real life situations. I see so much love and kindness in the blogging community, so many girls building each other up that it encourages me to be like that in real life and to spread a lil' love as cheesy as that sounds! I have definitely made so many friends through blogging. Girls, I've genuinely come to love. I've only met one of them in real life but would love to meet more in the future!

Skintimate: Skin Therapy Mosturizing Shaving Gel

Tuesday, June 2, 2015

About two months ago, if I hear the words shaving gel I would say that's a waste of money. Why wouldn't use soap. I still use soap, but I am warming up to the idea of a shaving gel. I guess "Beauty Videos" are really persuasive! To be honest soap works good, but shaving gel is a better protection against razor burns. If a girl goes a month without shaving, hey who cares! But since it's almost summer those legs have to get back from vacation. For me it's been a month no shame, I couldn't my legs that. As soon as soaped up my legs and I started shaving, I could feel the burn and I almost cried. It was so bad I started bleeding a little, has that ever happened to you? So the shaving gel I'm going crazy for, I brought at Walmart for under $3. I believe the exact price was about $2.79. Even though the price is cheap, it is a great quality. If you want to know more keep reading and decide for yourself!

The Skintimate Shaving Gel is infused with Vitamin E, which is very essential for good looking skin and Moroccan Oil. This gel also includes olive butter + sunflower seed oil, that helps replenish the skins natural moisture. Another good thing about this shaving gel, is that it provides unbeatable protection for a close, comfortable shave, and healthy smooth feeling skin. I love this shaving gel. It works really well and my legs feel really soft. While shaving I felt like I was in those commercials (I know I'm weird, don't judge)! You can also use this for your underarms which is great. First off, a little of this goes a long way. There are two options, you can either pump some in your hands and then apply or pump it directly to your leg (or the area you want to shave).

When I first pumped this gel it had a foam look. But when I rubbed it on my leg it wasn't foamy, it was like a thick consistency. For me it was not sticky at all. If you do use this, remember to wet the shaving area first (of course it will be on the directions, but I just wanted to let you know). This will help the gel lather up, that is why a little goes a long way. So maybe pump a medium amount of this gel. For my first experience with trying a shaving gel, it was a good one. I am really impressed with this. I'm pretty sure this is a popular brand, but that does not matter to me. As long as the product is good, it could be called pajamas!

I hope you enjoyed reading! What skincare products have you been using?
