Meet My August Advertiser: Ugne

Sunday, August 30, 2015
During my time of blogging, I met lovely people who advertised my blog.  So for the month of August, I decided to try something new. To give back and share the love I decided to offer free advertising on my blog. During this month I got the chance to advertise three lovely bloggers. So here is one of my advertisers, Ugne! Ugne blogs over at Her Lovely Life, so be sure to check her out. She blogs about beauty, fashion, and lifestyle things. If you want to know more, keep reading!

1. How long have you been blogging?
I’ve been blogging for only a short time. I started quite a few blogs when I was younger, but the thoughts and ideas never seemed to actually leave my mind and enter the pages. So, blogging consistently and with a goal of meeting new people and learning new things has only been a recent addition to my hobbies, but a great one. I started this blog a month or two ago, but it was quite a while in the making.
2. What inspired you to start a blog?
I don’t remember, to be honest! I remember reading a few blogs and thinking “I could do that!” so I decided to! I’m a thinker at heart, I love learning, and I love sharing things I find fascinating with anyone and everyone willing to listen. In a blog, nobody has to be directly invested in listening to you for the writing to happen, so an audience is only secondary to my desire to write my thoughts out. So, I got a simple template, and started writing.
3. What goals do you have for yourself and your blog?
To connect more with others! It’s so isolating sometimes, being someone who can’t call blogging their full time job, yet needing to be just as invested in it as one. My largest goal is to make lasting relationships with bloggers that see me as more than just a pretty blog design or photo, but as a cool person with an intelligent voice. I think that’s largely missing in the blogging crowd, since it’s being so rapidly monetized. I want to be more genuine, and an interesting read to myself, and a stranger thousands of miles away.
4. Where do you see your blog in the next year?
EVERYWHERE! I don’t mean that in an I’ll be so famous you’ll eat your hat way, but in a I’m literally going to travel the world way. I want to travel to loads of foreign countries as part of my design studies, and to experience life in as many world views as possible.
5. Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?
I see myself living in Europe, doing my own thing. I’m native to Lithuania, so I miss home every second. To be closer to my family and the culture I grew up with is something I want very dearly. Hopefully, I’ll be in a small studio with a great attic view, working on a thousand things, slowly making a name for myself.
6. What have you learned since you started blogging?
I’ve learned to be nice to strangers! The power of a kind word is truly a self-empowering thing. I also discovered how to be confident in yourself, without sacrificing security or safety. The internet is an awesome, powerful place.
7. What are the positives and negatives of blogging?
It’s definitely a difficult road to travel. Everyone sees their blog as great, because it’s their lives! The market is so saturated with bloggers, it can be difficult to isolate your brand from the crowd. But there are things that make it truly worth it. You can write about anything at all, meet people who like the same things you do, and see how people live around the world, but in real, human ways. I’ve discovered that truly every student, be it in India, England or Chicago, struggles with the same things, and it’s a liberating feeling to not having to stress about being “normal.” Seeing lives being lived out in real time is such an invigorating experience.
8. Would you want to turn this hobby into a career in the future?
Definitely! Upon discovering blogging, my career choices shifted a little. I’m studying graphic and industrial design, something I never knew even existed! I want to pursue a career in the digital world, and I’m hoping I’ll one day be successful in making meaningful connections between more people than just the few amazingly special people I’ve met so far.
9. Are you influenced by other bloggers?
Every day! Every new blog I read, I take something from. What works for them, a pleasing aesthetic, anything that it might be, and adapt it to my own needs. There are a few ladies that truly rock my socks, that deserve all the love in the world. But my inspiration comes from everyone. I try not to read the really popular blogs, but to see what new and unique perspectives are shown in parts of the internet that aren’t as commonplace yet, that way I can move with the new wave of internet creators, not the big dogs.
10. Has blogging changed you? (Have you made any friends or experienced new things)
Of course! I’ve met so many lovely people, that I couldn’t leave the blogging world simply for them! If you’re dedicated enough, you’ll find that there are a plethora of people who are kind, wise, brilliant, funny and generally amazing that are as passionate as you are. Those are the people that make blogging worth it. And for me, those people change and make me a better person every day.

It's always hard dealing with change, trust me I know. If you knew me, you would realize that it is hard for me to accept change. I like for things to stay the same, but I have come to realize that it's ok for life to evolve. Change is good if it's a positive one. My life is changing, the things I want to do are changing, and I am really excited. The word change still scares me though; although I feel differently now I feel a little scared inside. Maybe I'm scared of the changes around me. My personality has stayed the same, but maybe it wont fit with the change. Overall, good things can come from change.
I've learned that you can't let change stop you from going after a dream or a goal. There were a few opportunities I didn't take, because I was afraid of the possible change or affect it would have. Our world is constantly changing, people are changing and if these things are positive why should I be afraid. Part of life is about changing and taking risks. If you don't how will you learn from your mistakes and experiences. I don't like failing and sometimes that's my downfall. When you fail at something, that changes you and your outlook on life changes. For the past few weeks, I've been going through one of the biggest changes in my life. Don't worry it's a very positive change!
What I have learned about my in the past month, is that I'm starting to learn how to let go and accept change. I have to accept the fact that life is all about facing change and it's normal. I'm not going to runaway from it this time, I'm going to embrace it!

I hope you have enjoyed reading! Let me know how you feel about change.

Anjolee Jewelry Review

Tuesday, August 11, 2015
When it comes to jewelry, I'm a simple kind of girl. So when offered the opportunity to review a piece of jewelry from Anjolee, I was excited. Anjolee customizes jewelry to the fit their customers preferences. Their website sells high quality Diamond Jewelry. There are so many options you can choose from. On their site, they include earrings, rings, bracelets, and necklaces. When customizing the jewelry to your liking they have: the metal type, the carat weight, the diamond quality or your chose of a gemstone, and the item length. I think it's really nice that customers get to customize their own jewelry, it makes it more personal.

The bracelet is silver and it's made with high quality cz and topaz gemstones. For the purpose of this review only, I received this in cubic zirconia; this is because the diamond version is expensive. I received the bracelet within a week of shipping, which isn't bad at all. It came in a navy blue silk bag. When I first saw this bracelet, I wasn't expecting it to look like this. As I said before, I am a simple kind of girl; so I was impressed with how the bracelet looked. It's very thin, simple, and dainty which are the 3 things I like about this. The bracelet is small, so I don't have to worry about it getting caught on my clothes. Another important thing about this bracelet, is the fact that it is not heavy at all. I love how it looks elegant and it's so pretty. The bracelet is not to flashy so I can wear it with anything, but it's also not to simple so I can wear it with a fancy dress to. I am happy that I got a chance to pick gemstones, so I chose my birthstone which is blue topaz!

Overall, I really love the bracelet and it really suits my personality and who I am. I would recommend you all to check out this site. Keep in mind that this is expensive high end jewelry and the price range varies, so it would be perfect for special occasions.

*I received this bracelet for free, in exchange for my honest review. All opinions in this post are 100% my own.

Wednesday Blues

Wednesday, August 5, 2015

Feeling the blues on hump day? You're not the only one. I try to stay positive, but sometimes it feels like the walls are closing in. It's like you have so many things to do, but not enough time. It's so easy to loose confidence in yourself when things do not go as plan. Believe me I know, all I can say is keep trying. You're probably saying, "That's easier said, then done". I get it; I feel the exact same way, but having a negative vibe is not a good thing either. Having negative feelings can really crumble the whole day. For example, when I was in high school I would get up in a sad mood. That was the worst feeling ever. Everyday it was the same, instead of trying to find the good I was always thinking negative. Every morning I felt like I was closed in. The school work wasn't my problem, it was the people in it. I felt like no one liked me and my self-esteem was not great. I did have a few friends I talked to, but that wasn't enough. I felt like no one understood me and they didn't understand what I was feeling. Even though high school wasn't the best for me, I really miss it. I guess it was my security blanket for the real world.

I learned a lot from high school like: Math, History, Science, English, Reading, and Writing. All of those things are valuable, but it didn't really prepare me for the "Real World". A lot of people feel the same way, from what I've heard. Don't get me wrong, our parents help(ed) us deal with the real world, but what about when we were or are in school. Even though I've been out of high school for only 5 years, that's a really longtime. So hopefully things are changing, but I would have liked for school to have taught me other things. For example, how to create a resume or how to prepare for a job interview; stuff like that. Even though, I'm out of high school my feelings are still the same. When I fail at something, I get so down on myself. But I guess everyone's their own worst critic. I remember during the #zchat on twitter a few days ago we were talking about expectations. That chat came at the right time for me. From the entire chat I learned, that I should be expecting more of myself, than other people. I should worry about the expectations I have for myself and what I want to accomplish. I know I'm rambling, but these are just my feelings.

So if you're ever feeling the blues, do things that will make you happy. Don't put too much pressure on yourself. The fact, that you're trying to become better is a great start. I already feel a little better. My advice would be to take baby steps. It's great to have big goals and dreams, because I have them as well. But sometimes, those small goals and dreams can lead up to the big ones!

I hope you enjoyed reading and if you're feeling down surround yourself with positive vibes!

Freeman Facial Masks

Monday, August 3, 2015
For a couple of months, I've been into face masks. They leave my skin feeling great. At Walmart they have samples of these masks and I definitely took advantage of this. Mainly because this gives me an opportunity to try the mask out, before purchasing the full size. These sample packets only cost about $1.37. I only got these, because they seemed the most interesting. These masks are also good for all skin types! Another important thing about these masks is that, it is not tested on animals an does not include parabens. I do not know much about parabens, except that they can cause irritation to the skin.
The Pomegranate peel-off mask refines and purifies the skin. It gently purges dirt and excess oils from the skin, for a cleaner refined surface. As an 8 antioxidant infused with: Acai, Goji, Mango, Mangosteen, Cranberry, Noni, Pomegranate, and Blueberry. These guard the skin, against free radicals and environmental stress. It says that this package contains up to, 2 to 4 applications. I would have to disagree, for me it was only a 1 time use. When I opened the package the color was a light purple color, but when applied to the skin it was clear. The product is sticky, but it washes off of the hands easily. I like how it's easy to apply to my face. After 5 to 10 minutes, I peel off the mask and I rinse my face off with warm water. In the end my face feels soft, most importantly it's refreshed and hydrated! Overall, I loved the Pomegranate Peel- Off mask.
Unlike the Pomegranate peel-off mask, I did not want to try this next mask. I read the warning signs and I was too nervous about it. The Banana- Oat Instant Smoothing Mask, is an exfoliating smoothie for radiant skin. When I first saw this I was excited to try it out, until I saw the warnings. Prior to first application, perform a patch test on the inside of your arm, 24 hours prior to applying to your face to check for potential irritation. So I did the patch test earlier around 10:30 in the morning, so it hasn't been 24 hours for me yet.

During this time I was hesitant about trying this out. I also read on the back that you can't use this on skin that is sunburned, irritated, sensitive, or within 24 hours of waxing. It's not recommended for users of any topical or orally- or prescribed acne, Vitamin A derived, skin exfoliation medication. Slight tingling, mild itching or some temporary skin redness are normal reactions to a highly active exfoliate. This gave me relief, but I am still uncomfortable with using it. This mask contains Alpha Hydroxy Acids, which rapidly exfoliates dull skin cells. That great that it exfoliated dull skin cells, but these acids may increase skin's sensitivity to the sun and possibly sunburn. You have to use sunscreen and limit sun exposure a week after use. This is why I will not be using this mask, unfortunately because I thought it sounded great. You can use this, but I just wanted to let you know if you did try this.

I hope you enjoyed reading and let me know what facial masks you like to pamper yourself with!

It's That Time of the Month!

Sunday, August 2, 2015
All of us girls know about that "Time of the Month" phase. Dealing with cramps, headaches, toothaches, and feeling bloated. Maybe it's just me but these are all of the things I deal with before the time of the month. These are my "warning signs". Even worse let's not forget about: pimples, blemishes, or whatever you want to call it. During this time I feel disgusting and it's annoying. But that's what girls through. If guys only knew right! When the time of the month comes, it's rough in the first couple of days for me. It's hard to get out of bed and I don't like feeling cold. But it's not all bad, I have cravings when the time comes. I guess that is my excuse because,  I LOVE CHOCOLATE!

Through the years I've learned some ways to help sooth cramps, while having your period. So I am going to share them with you.
These are ways I help lessen the pain.
1. Eating saltine cracker. I know what you're thinking, but they really do help. I remember when I was in high school, this girl told me about this.
2. Drinking tea. Tea helps things like a sore throat, a cold, and cramps.
3. Exercise. Any form of it is good, but I wouldn't recommend going overboard. You can ride a bike, you can do yoga, or dance. I like to dance, but not too much. I remember in school, I didn't want to do gym that day, but my gym teacher said as soon as I start playing my stomach would feel better. I guess she as right.
4. Relax. Relaxing is something you should do while experiencing that time, whether it's reading your favorite magazine, eating ice, or binge watching your favorite show.

I also found a period tracker. I am unsure whether it's consistent, but it definitely predicted this time of the month. This is the link to the app I use, it's only the free version but you can buy the full here: Menstruation and Ovulation Calendar - Menstrual Period Tracker. They have a lot of information for you. It tells you when your best days for ovulation are, according to circles (1,2,or 3). I think the circles have something to do with your chances of getting pregnant. So far I like this app, so be sure to checkout the link above, if you want to take a peek. This is what some of the app looks like.

Things that annoy me when it's that time of the month.
-They look at you funny or they stay away from you because you're dealing with the case of "PMS"
- "Oh, she's on period, that's why she's angry".
- "Are you on your you know what, because your snapping at me?".
-"Is it that time of the month for you?.
Things you have to be careful with, during that time
- The type of clothes you wear. I wear dark jeans, when I go through this.

I feel like people exaggerate when someone is going through this. It's like, we're not crazy and we're  not some emotional unstable creatures. Hello, we are people too.
