Revlon Essentials Volume Booster Styler!

Wednesday, December 19, 2018

When it comes to hair dryers I haven't had the best of luck in the past. The dryer either broke as soon as I bought it or made my hair frizzier. I instantly gave up on finding a dryer that would suit all of my hair needs. With the increase in price for hair dryers you have to decide whether you spend a lot of money or continue air drying! But I guess you pay the price for beauty.

Winter was right around the corner so I knew I needed to find a dryer fast, unless I wanted to catch a cold from wet hair. One day while in Walmart my mission was to find a decent, affordable dryer. In the back of my mind I didn’t think this was possible, especially after I looked in the dryer section for 10 minutes. The prices went from $20 to $50 and I was not sure about the brands either. I’ve always used the brand Conair for my hair tools, not for any specific reason though. But I realized I should step out of my comfort zone and try something new, that’s when I found the Revlon Essentials Volume Booster Styler for only $15.94 at Walmart. Have you ever heard of the saying quality over quantity? I’ll admit there’s some truth to it. But this dryer was different and I really wanted to try it out.

To my surprise this dryer was everything I wanted. Nothing is perfect but this hair dryer came close. This dryer brings volume to your hair, especially if you are someone who has flat hair. Most importantly this dryer reduces frizz and gives your hair a shiny look, which is definitely a plus for me! Another thing I like about this product is the setting options, including low and high or cool, warm and hot. Overall this dryer is really good!

Thank you for reading my post! What hair tools do you use and recommend?

Netflix: Haunting Of Hill House

Monday, December 17, 2018

I’m a very picky person when it comes to watching movies and tv shows. I want to be intrigued right away. That’s probably a lot to ask for but it’s almost the only way to grab my attention. I barely watch new shows and I just put the old ones on repeat most days. But every time I came across the Haunting Of Hill House on Netflix, I was interested. But I never got around to watching the show right away. It wasn’t until I came across an article about one of the episodes, that made me watch it about 4 days ago. Don’t worry I don’t give away spoilers.

You have to be careful with shows like this one, because you don’t want to be repetitive. So at first I was skeptical of watching this because I was thinking this is the same kind of show, where a family is being haunted. Before I continue I just want to say that it’s nothing how I expected it to be. The way the show was written and directed was out of this world. The acting was phenomenal and it kept me wondering, what the next scene or episode was going to be like. I watched this show in one day and that’s rare for me, I haven’t binged watched a show since the beginning of this year.

Just to give you a background about the family. Married couple Hugh and Olivia Crain move into a house they are trying to flip during this Summer. Along with their kids Oldest child Steven, second oldest child Shirley, middle child Theodora also known as Theo, twins Luke and Eleanor also known as Nell. Between the twins Luke is 90 seconds older.

Haunting Of Hill House is very different and unique but it captures every detail of its meaning. There’s really no questions unanswered for me, which makes it worth watching. I love how each character has their own epsisode and you see how the past affects them in the future. Usually you don’t really get to see the characters of a show in depth like this. What makes this show special is how every answer to your question isn’t just thrown at you in one episode. It’s like a, “wow I see how this ties in with...” type of moment. For example, some shows that I’ve watched the problem or  question was answered in a way that left me with more questions and overall I was confused. It just didn’t makes sense because they jammed it in at the last 3 minutes of the show. As I said before the acting was great, they bring the characters to life. Not only are they strong individually, which makes it easy to become attached to the character and feel their emotions but together it’s like you forget this is not a real family.

This was written weeks ago, but I never got around to posting it. I hope you enjoyed reading this. If you’ve watched this show let me know!

3 Things That Annoy Me With Social Media

Tuesday, October 30, 2018

Social media is great for networking,  meeting people, sharing your unpopular opinions, promoting yourself and creating friendships. Well those are the great things about social media and the downside is cringeworthy. But with every positive, comes a negative right?

To Follow Or Not To Follow
Have you ever been followed by someone, only to have them unfollow you minutes after? Like how did this even start and why is it still happening for that matter. Before I continue, I’m not talking about unfollowing when you lose interest in their social media. For example, it happens often with follow threads. First off, these threads are here to help everyone grow a following. The rules are simple: Retweet this tweet and then follow everyone who retweets as well. Half of the people don’t bother following back and then the other half follows you momentarily. Honestly why bother even participating in the thread. But what’s even worst, is when someone just wants to build their following so they follow all of these accounts just to unfollow after they get the follow back. It’s I understand you want to grow your Twitter or more so Instagram, but there is a right way to do things.

Since When Did Makeup Become A Crime
We all have our own opinions about certain situations that are going on in the world. Right now I don’t mean politics, I’m talking about makeup. Clearly a lot of people are concerned with everyone “caking their faces” instead of real issues. For me I think it’s ridiculous. I mean everyone has a right to their own thoughts, but there’s a way to do it. You don’t have to be rude about it either. So what if someone loves makeup, it’s an art of expression. I’m that great with makeup, but I love seeing other people living their life and showing off their talents with makeup. Makeup is not a crime. If you wear makeup that’s awesome, if you don’t you’re awesome.

The Amount Of Followers Shouldn’t Matter
I’m sure it’s nice to have a large following on social media. That’s great and all, but people with a small following matter too. I’m writing this to bash influencers and or bloggers with a bigger following, this is for companies who feel micro influencers do not matter. Have you ever found a great opportunity that fits your interests and you would be a perfect fit? But then as you keep reading you need to have a following of 25k or 300k. It’s like smaller accounts are important too, we use the same products or clothing. Why should one review be more important than the other.

Thank you for reading my post! Is there anything that annoys you about social media, that I did not mention?

The Myth About Blogging

Monday, October 29, 2018

If blogging is so easy, then everyone would be making a living from it. When I started blogging about six years ago I had no clue what I was doing. I didn’t really know anyone and there were no post to help me. Today blogging has become so much bigger and to see this makes me happy. But I’m not really hear to talk about the positive things that come with blogging. I see so many people on social media believing blogging is just a way to make money, but they have no idea this is far from the truth.

Don’t get me wrong you can make money, but it won’t get you the million dollar house you’ve been looking for. But if you tell someone who doesn’t understand, they will say you’re a liar. What a lot of people fail to realize is that, there is a whole process that goes into blogging. Whether blogging is a hobby or a full/ part-time job it’s difficult. I find it insulting sometimes when non bloggers go on a rant, saying blogging is not hard work and all you do is get free stuff from it. When I first started blogging, it was not as popular as it is today. It was almost taboo and no one talked about it as much. Bloggers are underrated and underestimated. You would never truly understand what it is like, until you experience the struggles and obstacles.

This isn’t a post complaining about being a blogger. I’m just writing about what blogging is like from my point of view and how I feel people who don’t blog react. So here’s a few  things I’ve heard people say or what they might be thinking about bloggers.

“They’re making so much money from blogging”
“I want free stuff too”
“Blogging is not a real job”
“Blogging is easy”
“They all have mac books and special equipment”
“They are living in a fantasy world”

Blogging is what you make it to be which is fun. This is hard work, but it’s very rewarding in the end. If people are fortunate to have the latest camera equipment or great background that’s awesome. But not everyone has that and it’s ok. You don’t need a special camera for your photos, you can use your phone. You don’t need to have an out of this world background, make your own or buy one at an affordable price.

If you’re not a blogger you wouldn’t understand what goes behind the scenes. It’s not all rainbows, unicorns, running barefoot in the grass. You couldn’t be more far from the truth. As bloggers we do everything ourselves unless we’re luck enough to have help. Writing, taking photos, editing, promoting multiple times a day and more is all on us. There’s so much that goes into one single post. Bloggers could write two to three posts and realize none of them is good enough to be posted. How about taking hundreds of photos everyday to only realize a good ten will make the cut. Trying to promote blog posts without spamming everyone’s timeline/ feed. I could ramble on and on about this, but I would be here all day long. Blogging is not easy, we do it because we enjoy it.

Just know that if money is being made, it’s because we all earned it. We work hard on everything and its not for free. It’s not easy being a blogger and all of times, not everyone is fortunate enough to make money from it. Before you bash someone who blogs, try to think about all of the hard work and effort they put into the post, photos and more.

Thank you for reading my post! Is there anything that bothers you about the misconception of blogging?

Finding My Passion For Blogging Again

Friday, October 19, 2018

At some point in time, when your heart isn’t into something you should take a break. Blogging is great and I couldn’t see myself without it. However sometimes it can get overwhelming and that’s what happened to me this year. For about eight months I have not blogged and I thought I was a bad person for that. I have realized that it was best to take the long break. In doing so, I have found so many things I love to talk about. I was holding myself back because I put a label on myself, wanting to be known as a beauty blogger. Sure I attached the lifestyle part, but honestly I don’t really know what that means.

During this year I had time to reflect on where I wanted my blog to go and whether I even wanted to write anymore. Honestly the motivation to blog was not there at all and at that time, I really didn’t care if I continued. I did not want to look at my blog or deal with it. For me I was tired of putting in the work and not getting anything in return. Meaning no one was really reading my blog, no matter how many times I promoted. I felt like there was no point. While taking a break, I realized how miserable I felt while blogging for the past year. My photos were not where I wanted them to be and I just wanted to stop. I started comparing my photos to others and that’s something I did not what to happen, but it did and I learned from it.

Today makes six years of blogging for me and I’m ready to get back to what I love to do. Sometimes you need to step away from something to either realize how much you love it or whether it’s time to throw in the towel and let it go. I have been consistent with blogging whether I did it a few times a year or everyday, so letting this go was not an option for me.

I’ve grown so much and decided that it was time to stop hiding under one niche. Personally it is not for me to stick to one niche and I know this was mentioned before on a few other posts of mine, but I truly mean it this time! I believe that when you limit yourself, you are holding back from your true potential. I started blogging for me and I had to remember that. If I enjoy what I write that’s what is most important. People will feel that positive energy and enjoy reading your blog!

Over the years I have come to the realization that, we are constantly learning something new from blogging. There’s really no rules to it. Have fun, enjoy, meet other bloggers and be yourself. So much has changed in the blogging community and it’s so many supportive people out there. I lost my creativity for a while and I didn’t know why it left me. But looking through old arts and crafts of mine, really motivated me to find my passion for blogging again.

Remember that you have absolutely every right to take a break from blogging. You don’t have to apologize for needing one either. A lot of times when you force yourself to do something, you get overwhelmed. It’s important to stop and relax then come back new and refreshed!

Nuxe Paris Body 24 hr Moisturizing Lotion For Dry Skin

Saturday, February 17, 2018

I love Winter because of the snow and of course Christmas! But I don’t like the dry skin, I’m left with. So it’s very important to find good products, that moisturizes and hydrates my skin. That’s when I got the Nuxe Paris Body, 24hr moisturizing body lotion from Notino. Notino is my go to place for beauty products! They always have a nice range of skincare, hair and makeup products at an affordable price. You’ll also find good sales, which is a plus.

Nuxe 24 hr body lotion provides a nourishing formula for supple skin. Included in this moisturizing lotion is wheat extracts and wood to help provide the moisture you need for healthy skin. The sweet Almond and Sunflower oil reverses dryness of the skin. Most importantly the Almond and orange flower petals helps soothe and soften the skin.

The lotion is creamy but does not have a thick consistency. The smell is pleasant and is not strong at all. For a 6.7 oz bottle that costs about $17, this is a nice size that goes a long time. I’ve been using this product for some time and I like how skin feels. During this Winter season, besides my hands and around my nose I experience dryness on my elbows. While using this lotion, the dryness has reduced. To use this you apply the lotion in the morning and or evening to the whole body. I like to use this both morning and night, but to each it’s own. Overall this has hydrated my skin and it’s more moisturized.

Origins Makeup Removing Jelly

Friday, February 16, 2018
The one thing anyone who wears makeup hates, is the process of taking it off. Taking off makeup is a long task that no one wants to deal with. Honestly, that’s why I think people go to sleep still wearing makeup. But what’s  even harder, is trying to find a product that takes off all of your makeup. Some products I’ve used in the past, only takes off like 75% and then I’m left trying to scrub the rest off. This gets really irritating because you have makeup smear stains on your face, from trying to take it off.

But when I had the opportunity to try the brand Origins, I couldn’t resist. Up until I tried this I had no idea about this, I’ve never heard of this brand so it was definitely new to me. The Origins Original Skin Cleansing  Makeup Removing Jelly product is a great one! I’m so use to makeup wipes, so I wasn’t sure I would like this. This removing jelly is good for people with dry, normal and oily skin. It removes dirt, impurities, eye and face makeup. Included in this makeup remover is willowherb, it helps restore radiance to the skin.

When applying it felt cool on my lips and the product quickly removed my makeup. The consistency was thick, but did not leave a greasy or sticky feeling! While using this I’ve found that it’s easier to remove the makeup in circular motions. This will prevent redness. Do not apply to much of the jelly, I would suggest putting on a little at  a time. Overall I recommend this product.

I hope you enjoyed reading! What are your favorite makeup remover products, I would love suggestions?

*I received this product for free to test, but all opinions are 100% honest.

Lubriderm Daily Moisture Lotion

Thursday, February 15, 2018

This Winter has not been the best for my skin, it’s almost dryer than the desert. Maybe I’m exaggerating a little but, it’s really bothering me. Finding different products for my skin use to be hard because, I didn’t know my skin type. I have combination skin and believe it or not it changes during this cold season. One problem that is constantly annoying is my hands. Around my knuckles and between my fingers it’s dry. If the dryness is bad, I experience cracks. Sometimes it’s painful for me, especially when I apply lotion. The cracks of my hands look like tiny scratches and it makes me cringe. Luckily I don’t bleed, I may sound extreme but I’ve seen this happen to people before.

I recently about two months ago, for my first tattoo! When the tattoo process was over I had to follow the aftercare instructions. One of them being, to use a fragrance free lotion. The two options they gave me were, Lubriderm and Curel. I ended up getting the Lubriderm because I wasn’t just using this for my tattoo. I felt like it would benefit my skin to. On the front it says for dry skin which, is just what I needed. For a decent size bottle it cost about $7, that is not bad at all. The product goes along way too, I’ve been using it for like two months. The Lubriderm daily moisture lotion is great for normal to dry skin and as I said before, it's fragrance free. Included in this lotion is vitamin b5 to keep the skin moisturized and it lasts up to 24 hours.

Overall I would definitely repurchase this lotion! This lotion does not leave a greasy feeling and it is not sticky. One most important thing I like about Lubriderm, is how it makes my skin feel. My skin feels soft and it does lasts a long time. I feel very moisturized and I can go awhile without reapplying. I would recommend this lotion, it is worth the buy and you wouldn't regret it. This is definitely a go to product for me and I use it all of the time.

I hope you enjoyed reading! What are your favorite products to keep you moisturized during Winter?

Nuxe Reve De Miel Ultra Comforting Face Cream

Monday, February 12, 2018
The first thing people look at when talking to you, is most likely your face. My face is one of my biggest insecurities, because of my blemishes and redness around my nose and at the start of my cheeks. I have a love hate relationship with my face, sometimes my skin looks good and other times it's a mess. Finding a product(s) to suit my skincare need is always a challenge. I have used some really good products, but actually creating a routine that will give me the results I am looking for has proven to be difficult. If one product helps sensitive skin that's great, but then it might not help dryness. So looking for an all around product that can do everything would be nice.

I became a fan Nuxe reve de miel products, because they really have helped my skin. Just like a lot of the products I use, I got the product I will be talking about from Notino. Their products come in a variety for women and men, plus it's affordable. The Nuxe reve de miel ultra comforting face cream for dry and sensitive skin is something I've been looking for. During the Winter my skin get really dry and I am constantly moisturizing every chance I get. My face is the only thing that's somewhat sensitive. So this product has to be good! This face cream is nourishing and soothing, so it protects dry and sensitive skin; that provides the skin with a smooth and supple feeling. It works to reduce redness and irritated skin, making sure it's hydrated throughout the day.

Great for all ages, about 92% of this face cream's ingredients are all natural. Included in the ingredients are: Honey which repairs the skin, Argan Oil and Barley which soothes the skin, Shea Butter provides nourishment and hydration that refines the skin. Also the Sunflower Oil Derivative, Safflower Ceramides and Precious Plant Oils nourishes the skin and replenishes lipids. Most importantly, the combination of Sunflower Derivative and Vitamin E repairs the skin and protects from external aggressions.

The Nuxe face cream is nice to use. I’ve been using it for awhile and it has really helped my dry skin. Overall my skin look moisturized and feels soft. I experience redness on certain places of my face and this product does help reduce that. This is a cream product, so it’s creamy and has a thick consistency. You apply this product in the morning after washing your face and neck. I like honey, which is the first scent you smell. When I first applied this to my face and neck, the smell was a little strong. But when you apply it everyday, you start to get use to it so it’s not as overwhelming. This product is about $23 and it’s 1.7 oz. The face cream goes a long, so you don’t need to use a lot at one time.

If you want to know more about this product click the link below!

I hope you enjoyed reading and let me know what products you like to use!

5 Things I Wish I Knew Before Starting A Blog

Friday, January 26, 2018

This year will be six years of blogging for me and I still feel like I’m just starting. Back when I first decided to blog, it wasn’t as popular as it is now. I had no one to talk to for advice. There wasn’t really any post on how to start a blog and if there was, I didn’t know about it. I’m not one to really give advice on what to, I can only share my experience and hopefully you’ll learn a better way to do things. I do have some things I wished I would have known when it comes to blogging, but I don’t regret them because it helped me become better. So here are the five things I wish I that I knew before blogging!

Promoting Your Blog
I remember when I first started blogging, I had no clue what I was doing. To be honest I was so consumed with views and numbers. But who isn’t when you first start blogging? I wanted people to read what I had to say and the things that interests me. I didn’t realize that promoting your blog, was the key to get views and comments. I don’t know what I was thinking, except that I thought people would just somehow find me.

You’re Not Alone
When starting out as a blogger I felt so alone. Some of the people I talked to regularly on social media weren’t bloggers, they were all on YouTube. So no one really understood how I was feeling and most importantly I didn’t tell anyone I knew in real life. It wasn’t until the next year in 2013, when I started meeting other bloggers through Twitter that I felt like blogging wasn’t so bad. There was this community of other bloggers sharing the things that they love.

Don’t Give Up
My attitude now feels like, giving up is not an option for me. But back then I was ready to throw in the towel so many times. I didn’t give up though, because of that blogging is the first real thing I’ve been consistent with. It’s important not to give up and that motivates me more than ever before!

It’s Important To Be Organized
I fought so hard not to plan or schedule anything related to blogging. Honestly I didn’t feel it was necessary at the time. Whether it’s a hobby, part time or full time job I believe it’s important to keep track of posts and pictures. I’ve learned so much about being organized and it has really helped me.

Be Confident
It’s important to believe in yourself and the work that you publish. I’ve been blogging for a while now and I only started gaining confidence during my third year! I started as blogger with low self esteem and lacked a lot of confidence. I didn’t really have anyone to talk to about it, because no one in real life knew. I wish I could’ve talked to other bloggers, but I didn’t know them or have the confidence to talk to them first. It was 2015 when I first posted a picture of myself as my profile and I felt a huge relief. I realized I wanted people to know who I am and I wasn’t afraid anymore. I will never forget that moment!

I hope you enjoyed reading! What are some things you wish you knew before you started blogging?

44 Thoughts While At The Movie Theater

Tuesday, January 23, 2018

Is it me or does a million thoughts run in your mind, when you are out in public? When for me the movie theater is the worse. I'm constantly thinking about seats, germs and most of all the noise. So I decided to share the thoughts I have while at the movies and maybe you have them too!

Why is the line so long, don't people have anything else to do.

Hopefully by the time I get in front of the line my movie won't be sold out.

I haven't been to the movies in a while, is it still the same price.

What snacks should I get.

Will I look like a pig if I get every kind of candy.

Oh, I can't forget about the popcorn.

Of course I need something to drink with my popcorn. I want something to wash down all that salt.

Finally I'm almost in the front of the line.

Why are people staring at me, is there something on my face.

This movie is rated r do I have my id with me, what if I don't.

It's my turn now, thank goodness.

Crap I should have taken my money out earlier. I didn't even clean out my bag, now I'm going to be forever looking for my wallet.

Great, the people behind me are staring to get pissed.

I'm nervous and I'm starting to sweat. I know I have my wallet, where is it.

I found my wallet, now I can get my ticket and walk in embarrassment.

Hopefully it's not crowded in there.

Where am I going to sit.

I don't want to sit in the front, but the middle is not my favorite place to be.

If I sit in the back I can be closer to the door, if I have to use the bathroom.

If I sit in the back what someone tall comes in, then I can't see.

I guess middle seats it is.

Why is this person walking towards me.

Out of all the available seats, why sit next to me.

Now I can't stretch my arms.

Thanks a lot person who just had to sit near me.

I'm hungry but I don't want to eat and make chewing noises. What if people tell me to shut up.

What if I get popcorn on the person next to me.

Am I chewing loud.

I'm so thirsty, I'm sure it would hurt to take just a sip.

I can hear myself making gulping sounds, I should just slide down my seat. Maybe no one will notice.

Being in love in nice, but must show pda while I'm watching the movie.

I want to react to the movie, but what if they think I'm loud or sound annoying.

Why is this person talking so loud, if I can have self control so can you.

Why is this person yelling at the movie, the actors can't hear you.

Wait I think I'm the one yelling.

But it can't just be me, right.

I'm starting to feel uncomfortable, is this movie over soon.

Great the movie is over but my legs fell asleep and I can't get up.

Are people really in a rush to leave, I can't even enter the aisle to walk.

Is there something going on, because I'm getting pushed back and forth.

I just tripped over my own foot.

A few more step before the exit.

Is this a push or pull kind of door.

I'm finally out of the theater.

Before I continue I just want to say how positive and focused I’ve been so far this year. I’m almost ready to conquer the world right now, sort of. This post is a new one but an old one if that makes sense. I’ve had these pictures for about a year ready to use for this first impressions review, but I wasn’t in the blogging mood at the time. So anyway, if you’ve been reading my blog for awhile or this is your first time I love BH Cosmetics. Their products are affordable and made of good quality, especially their eye shadow palettes!

The palette in this “swatch review” is the Blushed Neutrals Palette by Bh Cosmetics. This is 26 color eye shadow and blushes that includes 3 finishes: Matte, Shimmer and Satin! I love Neutral eye shadow, not only are they pretty but these are simple and not over the top loud. So this would be great for a more subtle look.

Row 1: This row of colors are really pretty, they are very vibrant. It gives that pop of color and shimmer to make any look stand out. This is great for anytime look and also great for the spring season!

Row 2: This row is my second favorite and the colors are gorgeous. This photo doesn’t do these colors justice! Although this palette is neutral, this row nothing but dull.

Row 3: This row isn’t my favorite, however I do like a few of the colors. For some reason it seems a little too dull for me and some of the colors are not as pigmented. I do however love the shimmer in the first few colors.

Row 4: This is my favorite row by far and although this is the blush row, these colors are beautiful. In my opinion this row stands out more than the rest. This row is a mixture of matte and shimmer and I think the second color is satin. You can’t go wrong with pink! The first color is my top favorite, it’s perfect for under the brow highlight.

I hope you enjoyed reading! What’s your favorite palette or have you ever ordered anything for BH Cosmetics?

9 Guilty Pleasures

Thursday, January 18, 2018

We all have those guilty pleasures that just won't go away. So I decided to share 9 of my guilty pleasures with you. Some of these are a habit I just can get rid of. Others have become apart of my routine!

Cracking My Knuckles: This is a habit I've had for a long time. I can't help cracking my knuckles, actually it's pretty soothing for me. I find myself doing this without me realizing it. Depending on my mood, whether I'm upset or nervous I crack knuckles.

Washing My Hands Constantly: I guess you can say I don't like germs. It's like every few minutes I'm washing my hands. I don't even have to touch anything.

YouTube Videos: I'm obsessed with watching YouTube videos and I can watch them for hours. It's like one video leads to another. Some of my favorite channels are vlogs, beauty, food and comedy!

Comic Book Movies: I love comic book movies and I'm pretty sure I've watched most of them. I can't really decided whether I like Marvel or DC better. Do you have a favorite.

Disney Movies: Growing up I watched Disney movies and since being an adult nothing's changed. I'm a kid at heart and I don't see things changing. I love all the Disney princesses, but my favorites are the older ones. One of my favorite non Disney princess movie is wall e! Oh wait, how can I forget about the toy story series, basically I love everything about Disney!

90's Music: Wasn't the 90's just the best! I always like to listen this decade because I grew up in this decade. From Usher, TLC, Aaliyah, Monica, Brandy, Boys II Men, The Spice Girls, *NSYNC, Backstreet Boys, Celine Dion, Mary J Blige, Toni Braxton and the list goes on. I have a playlist dedicated to 90's music! The music now isn't really the same anymore.

Reading Gossip Magazines: Don't judge me on this, I'm sure a lot of you like gossip to right? The latest juiciest stories or scandals. Not all the time but here and there isn't so bad!

Eating Pasta: This has to be the number one guiltiest pleasure of mine. This is in my top 3 favorite foods. If I could eat pasta everyday without any repercussions, I would! It's comfort food for me.

Watching Police/ Crime Television: This one is probably bad, but I can't help it. I think this guilty pleasure is self explanatory. I love watching show like Law & Order: SVU, Criminal Minds, Hawaii Five 0, Chicago PD and I think that's it. There is one more, I like watch the id channel I found it to be an eye opener. I don't watch it often as before though.

I hope you enjoyed reading this post! What are your guilty pleasures?

Tips For Natural Hair During The Winter

Tuesday, January 16, 2018

If you’re someone with natural hair you understand the struggles we go through during the Winter time. Our hair goes through constant phases and sometimes our hair routine changes. For me it feels like during the Winter I have to change up my whole routine. But over the past four years, I’ve learned what works and does not work for my hair. I also learned about natural hair in general, so I decided share some tips to get you through the Winter season.

Protective Hairstyles
Every now and then it’s important to give your hair a much needed break. From all the stress the hair has gone through, whether you have straightened once in awhile or combing it’s time to put your hair in an untouchable hairstyle. There are so many options out there like: braids, twists, faux locs, and wigs!

Moisturize
If you’re like me then your hair tends to get dry during Winter and Summer. It’s crucial to keep the hair moisturized, because it’s more re prone to being brittle and eventually breaking if it’s dry. Using oils like: olive oil, jojoba oil, Argan oil, Moroccan oil and etc. is necessary. Every so often I would recommend using a hot oil treatment as well. You don’t have to buy this, you can simply warm up some olive oil and apply to the hair. If you have your own method that’s fine, this is what works for me.

Diffuse Your Hair
Unlike the Summertime you can’t really get away with air drying your hair. Because the weather is cold outside it will take much longer to dry and you can get a cold which you don’t want to happen. If you don’t want to spend the extra time diffusing, then braid your hair and wear a cute hat. If that doesn’t work, put your hair in a protective style!

Deep Condition
Every week you should deep condition your hair or at least every two weeks. This ensures your hair is moisturized, healthy and strong.

Change Up Hair Products
Honestly I didn’t think there would be a difference when changing the products you use, but I was wrong. When you use your hair products for a long time, the hair gets use to it and therefore it doesn’t work as well anymore. So I definitely recommend changing things up. Make sure it’s sulfate free, because sulfates strip the hair of its natural oils.

I hope you enjoyed reading and have found this helpful. What tips that you use for your hair?

Here's To 2018

Monday, January 15, 2018

Happy New Year everyone! I know what you’re thinking, “she’s days late”. But I’ve gone through some life lessons and I wasn’t ready to start blogging again. Last year was not the best for me and I’ve seen it was wasn’t for a lot of other people as well. Blogging wasn’t something I was into last year, I just didn’t want to force. I was not confident in my photos and which made my confidence go down. To be honest I had 10 posts in my draft ready to go, but what use is that without a picture.

Anyway this year is a fresh start for me and I’m very optimistic and positive that this year will be a good one. For Christmas I got a planner and I’ve wrote down all my goals I want to accomplish by the end of this year. For once I wrote down blog posts I’m uploading for 3 months, that’s definitely a first. In the past I’ve said I don’t need a planner and it’s ok to go against the grain and not be an organized blogger. Today I will admit that that’s not working for me anymore and it’s important to have a plan, at least for me it is.

So here’s to a new year, new beginnings and being the best me I can be. I’m not perfect but, who is? I hope all of you have a wonderful year and may your dreams come true and your goals be accomplished!

What are your goals for this new year and have you started them?
